“Once upon a time, when women were birds,
there was the simple understanding that
to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk
was to heal the world through joy.
The birds still remember
what we have forgotten,
that the world is meant to be
celebrated.”

If you think you don’t make a difference, try spending a night with a mosquito! Humor and depth from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is so true. Size or number doesn’t always matter. Just one, little old me, can make a difference. Sometimes making a difference is only recognized much later. Who we are brings an energy and vitality to every situation. We do make a difference, even if sometimes unseen. Entanglement theory tells us we are connected at opposite ends of the universe, even though unseen. Even in proximity, our energy is felt. Our words are listened to. Our actions are witnessed. So, we do make a difference. With this understanding brings responsibility to be a good person. No guilt, but a lifetime practice of reducing our negativity and enhancing our positivity becomes front and center knowing that we do make a difference. The deeper nature of reality is interdependence. On this level there is no separation. We are constantly making a difference as we are all interconnected. Because of this interdependence and interconnectivity, we must take care of each other. We are indeed sisters and brothers in one human family, as HH Dalai Lama often teaches. Emaho!

🧘‍♀️ The Humming Secret: Just 10 Seconds to Boost Your Health! 🌬️🔬

The astonishing assertion that a simple practice like humming for just ten seconds can dramatically impact your body's physiology by boosting Nitric Oxide (NO) is a finding supported by scientific research on respiratory techniques. This boost can aid in everything from killing pathogens to enhancing cellular repair. 🤩

The Power of the Paranasal Sinuses
The key to this incredible boost lies not in the throat, but in the paranasal sinuses—the air-filled cavities located in the bones around your nose.

Nitric Oxide Production: These sinuses are the primary production sites for Nitric Oxide (NO) in the human body. NO is a vital gaseous signaling molecule that acts as a powerful vasodilator (widens blood vessels) and has crucial roles in the immune system.

The Humming Mechanism: When you hum, the vibration of the sound waves creates rapid air flow and recirculation within the sinus cavities. This movement dramatically increases the release of NO from the sinus lining into the nasal cavity. Studies using chemiluminescence have shown that humming can increase nasal NO release by as much as 15 to 20 times compared to quiet, regular breathing. 💔

Health Benefits of the NO Surge

The surge in NO caused by humming delivers rapid benefits throughout the body:

Pathogen Killer (Antimicrobial): NO is a potent antimicrobial agent. When inhaled into the lungs, the increased NO levels help to kill inhaled bacteria, viruses, and fungi, acting as a first line of immune defense against respiratory pathogens.

Cellular Repair and Respiration: As a powerful vasodilator, NO widens blood vessels, improving the flow of oxygen and nutrients to tissues and cells. This improved circulation supports cellular repair and enhances overall pulmonary (lung) function.

Mental Calm: Beyond the physical effects, humming is a common technique in pranayama (yogic breathing). The deep, controlled exhalation and vibration also activate the parasympathetic nervous system, inducing immediate relaxation and reducing the physical manifestations of stress. 🙏
