Local heroes going above and beyond to keep children safe! 👏
On Thursday, December 4, 2025, PMIC Kreider and driver B. Elliott were on duty in the Prince Frederick area when they observed a child riding without proper restraint in the back of a passenger vehicle. As they returned to the Medic Office, the crew followed the car along Route 4 and saw it turn into the Prince Frederick Walmart parking lot.
The medic crew continued into the parking lot and watched as the occupants entered the store. CALS Life member Brandi Elliott went into the store and located the adult driver, asking her about the unsecured child. The driver explained that the car seat was broken and she was currently unable to afford a replacement.
Life member Elliott purchased a new car seat and made sure it was properly installed in the family's vehicle. This action demonstrated a strong commitment to the well-being of Calvert County residents and reflected the high standards of CALS membership. The organization’s leadership expressed appreciation for the crew’s dedication and personal initiative in making a potentially dangerous situation safe.
