π£ We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The Medical Coder will be responsible for accurately translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes used for billing and insurance purposes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review patient medical records, physician notes, and other documentation to extract relevant information for coding.
- Assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding manuals.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded data to support billing and reimbursement processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing staff to resolve discrepancies or unclear documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards.
- Assist in auditing coded records to verify compliance with coding policies.
- Support the claims submission process by providing accurate and timely coding information.
- Adhere to patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a degree in Nursing, preferably a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare documentation.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals and billing personnel.
