Winter Weather Advisory issued December 3 at 12:36PM EST until December 4 at 7:00PM EST by NWS Buffalo NY

Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches in the most persistent lake snows, with the greatest amounts across the Boston Hills and Chautauqua Ridge. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow. Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions with poor visibility. While snowfall amounts will be minor, much of the snow will fall in a brief, heavy burst. The hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday morning commute.

Widespread snow has moved into most of the area this morning and will continue through the first half of the day today. While snowfall amounts will be relatively minor, the snow will peak in coverage and intensity during the commute this morning.

Winter Weather Advisory: remains in effect for all of Western NY, Genesee Valley, western Finger Lakes, and most of the eastern Lake Ontario region (except Jefferson County) through 7:00 PM this evening.

Widespread light to moderate snow will overspread the area beginning late tonight through Tuesday. Total accumulations of 4 to 6 inches, greatest accumulations will be found well south and east of the Buffalo, Rochester and Watertown metro areas.
