Washington state is working in the House and Senate to pass a long term care benefit for those requiring assistance with at least 3 daily activities of living. Employees would pay in a percentage and be eligible after 10 years (employers do not pay in).
Being in the home modifications and aging in place business, I see the pros of this, allowing funding for some modifications or in home care, outside of Medicaid. But being a worker I see the cons as well as we are already experiencing increased taxes due to the FMLA changes.
