Ever wonder what’s up there?🤯

Incredible dissection of the sagittal view of the head :)

You can see the brain with the meninges continuing as the brain stem and medulla. Also the cerebellum and many structures of the face are visible and give a good impression about the anatomy inside our heads!

Note how big the tongue is but how little of it we see, even while pulling it out.

So, as some of you know I am taking time off for a surgery. Surgery went better than expected but now I am learning about Calcification tendinitis. It comes on suddenly and the pain is out of this world. I woke up with shoulder pain that was out of this world. I was diagnosed yesterday and I have been studying it since. Here’s what I’ve learned so far;
It comes on suddenly usually in the shoulder or hip. The pain is excruciating because calcium crystals form on tendons and in the muscles. The pain comes on when they grow big enough and affects your range of motion much like frozen shoulder. I am unable to lift my arm from my side. Relief comes when the body re- absorbs the calcification which can take days, weeks or even months. This can affect anyone from athletes, anyone working over head and especially women between 40-60.
An X-ray found my calcifications and I received a cortisone shot which helped take the pain down from 12/10 to a place where I can function. it’s a wait and see while I am recovering from surgery if this will resolve itself or if other treatments will be involved.
Still hoping for October return to work but it will be up to my body.
