Last month, we were honored to host faith leaders from across our community for our Community of Faith Leaders Breakfast at the Samaritan Center. It was a wonderful morning of connection, conversation, and collaboration as we came together to share a meal, introduce ourselves, and celebrate our shared commitment to service and compassion. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us and contributed to the spirit of unity and partnership that makes our community so special. Together, we continue to strengthen the bonds that help us better serve our unhoused neighbors. 💙

On this Feast of St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226), the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer remembers the ministries of St. Francis Center, Atwater Village (Los Angeles, 1936); St Francis Episcopal Church, Norwalk (1951); St Francis Palos Verdes Estates (1953); St. Francis Ministry Center, San Bernardino (1962); and St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, Simi Valley (1962); together with all members of Franciscan religious orders.

Let us pray the prayer attributed to St. Francis:
Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that we may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that
we are born to eternal life. Amen.
