Dr. Tuyen Huynh graduated from CSUN, Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Inter Americana University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry in 2009. Dr. Huynh has been practicing scope of optometry for about 10 years. Dr. Huynh takes tremendous pride in providing her patients with the highest level of care, whether she is writing a prescription, treating a medical condition or referring patients for a surgical consult. She chooses to work with only the most experienced surgeons who use state of the art technology. Dr. Huynh enjoys educating her patients on refractive surgery and assisting first-hand the benefits it provides whether it is a lifestyle choice or for convenience. Dr. Huynh has been trained and specializes in the care, functions, and working of the eye. There are many conditions and diseases of the eye that your Optometrist can detect, diagnose and monitor during your regular eye health examinations. Many of these conditions can present themselves at various stages of development. With early detection it can have minimal impact on your vision. Other issues still can require a referral to an ophthalmologist. Dr. Huynh will be able to guide you should additional treatment be necessary. Here are some examples of what your doctor will be looking for. Vision problems: Astigmatism, double vision (diplopia), Higher-order abberations(HOAs) Hyeropia (farsightedness). Peripheral vision problems “Tunnel Vision”. Headaches. Eye conditions: Allergies, Amblyopia (lazy eye), Bell’s Palsy, Blepharitis, Chalazion, Color Blindness, Corneal Ulcer, Deteached Retina, Dry eye Syndrome, Eye Twitching, Flowers, Flashes and spots, Macular Hole, Nystagmus, Ocular Migrane, Optic Neuritis and Optic Neuropathy. Pinguecula and Pterygium, Photophobia (light Sensitivity). Conjunctivitis “Pink Eye”, Cataracts. Eye Diseases: Diabetic Retinopathy, Eye Herpes, Glaucoma, Keratoconus, Macular Deneration (AMD). Macular dystrophy, Ocular Hypertension, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Stargardt’s Disease (STGD). Minor Surgical Procedures: Removing foreign objects from the eye, and inserting Plug, a collagen implant into the punctum to help reduce dry eyes without using eye drop.
