HAND SANITIZER: Per CDC guidelines of minimum 60% alcohol:

*** Full strength isopropyl rubbing alcohol is about 70% alcohol and so can be used straight. Alternately, make your own:

Liquor stores have Everclear or its equivalent. Look for 150 proof & above. Divide the proof in half for alcohol content. This is why Tito's tasty vodka does bupkus for sanitizer- it's 80 proof, or 40% alcohol.

Mix 3/4 cup everclear with 1/4 cup aloe vera gel. Your hand sanitizer is now 75% alcohol & will make the CDC happy.

Everclear is less than $25 for 750ml (big honking bottle) & is available at Crazy Bruce's in Elmwood/WeHartford. I tried sourcing locally and ran into confused, sullen kids who sounded barely legal and said there was none. Just a fair warning.

Also, most alcohol-based hand sanitizer is quite drying, so be sure you also have plenty of lotion.

Bee balm honey. I stirred it up this morning, the flowers really want to float, so I will turn the jar periodically to keep everything all coated. Now the hard part: wait 2 months!
