What a beautiful celebration of music and community at our Spring Choir Concert here at Skybrooke at Simsbury!
Under the direction of Richard Wang, our talented resident choir gave a wonderful performance that reflected months of dedication, practice and heart. A special thank you to Roxanna, Carol and Julie for all the support they gave in assisting our residents. It was such a joy to welcome family and friends to share in the music and celebrate the spirit of togetherness that makes our Skybrooke community so special.

The adventure continues in Episode 4 of Northbridge Companies video series, We’re Going Places. At Skybrooke at Simsbury, residents enjoy the benefits of community living while staying connected to the vibrant Simsbury and Farmington Valley communities. In this episode, residents visit Sweet Wind Farm in East Hartland, Connecticut, for an inside look at the art of maple syrup making. The farm has been producing maple syrup for over 20 years, and residents had the opportunity to learn about the process from a third-generation sugar maker. From the importance of chilly outdoor conditions to understanding sugar levels, the day was filled with both fun and learning as residents discovered what goes into producing this classic New England staple. Experiences like this highlight the importance of deep rooted community connections and the benefits of continuing to learn about all types of businesses that support the local community. Life at Skybrooke at Simsbury continues to be full of exploration, learning, and meaningful connection.

Residents and professional partners gathered at Skybrooke last week to create and learn together. After personalizing succulent terrariums, we discussed how our community is living Senior Green; finding where comfort and sustainability intersect to live well now, and make our communities better for generations to come.

Even on her day off, the heart of an RCA never really clocks out. 💜

Today we had the sweetest surprise visit when one of our RCAs stopped by Avita with her adorable twin grandchildren. Our residents absolutely lit up with joy—smiles, laughter, and plenty of cuddles all around. Moments like this remind us that Avita is more than a workplace… it’s a family.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful grandchildren with us and bringing so much happiness to our residents’ day. 💕👶👶

Easter in Avita was filled with smiles and friendship. From egg coloring, chick “adoption” to a very special visit by the Easter Bunny. Laughter, love, and sweet traditions.

Spring is in full bloom and our Easter celebration was filled with sweetness, color, and meaningful traditions. We gathered around the table to enjoy babka, hot cross buns, angel food cake and fresh strawberries. It all paired perfectly with festive blackberry mint mocktails with candy coated rims. Each treat came with a story and we spent time learning why these foods are traditionally enjoyed at Easter, where those customs come from and the symbolism behind them.
To top it all off, we got creative by painting beautiful tulips and daffodils. Tis the season of renewal and new beginnings.

We loved being part of Alzheimer's Action Day at the State Capitol last month with our sister community, Riverbend at Farmington! It was amazing to hear and share inspiring stories of those with Alzheimer's Disease and their caregivers and learn more about the legislation, support and resources available in Connecticut!
