On November 16, the 9th World Day of the Poor, Pope Leo XIV offered much on which to reflect regarding those most in need. He notes that the poor can be witnesses to us all by the great hope they place in God.

An opportunity to help these St. Mary's Remsen families financially.
Please continue to pray. May God's healing hand be upon them.

In response to the numerous requests from the public to financially assist the students of the Nov. 15 traffic accident and their families, the Remsen St. Mary School administration has established accounts at two financial institutions to accept donations.
Accounts are available at American Bank in Remsen and Iowa State Bank in Remsen under the name:
Remsen St. Mary's Catholic Schools Girls Basketball Donation Account
to accept these contributions.
Remsen St. Mary administration advises that three students remain hospitalized following the accident. The school and families are very grateful for the outpouring of prayer and concern from the public regarding all those affected by the accident.

Kindness heals both the giver and the receiver. 💛

On this , remember that simple acts of compassion can ease anxiety, lift spirits, and remind others they’re not alone. A kind word, a smile, or a prayer can brighten someone’s day as well as your own! 🌿

Let’s share God’s love in every small act.

Norma Garza-Ramirez and Laura Duenas of Catholic Charities share the increase in requests for aid at their office - even before the SNAP cuts - for food, coats, help with utilities and rent, etc. They also refer people to the myriad of resources available in the event that they are not able to help.
