If you are a male caregiver, please help us build our Men’s Support Group by answering a short survey!

Caregiver Support Services offers you an array of options every month!

Our services are free/donation based, and they aim to provide a safe place for you to share your experiences without judgement. We offer a community of others who care and see your struggles, who want to support you and not only encourage self-care, but help you to find ways to incorporate it into your life in ways that actually work.
This program exists to remind you that you are just as important as your care receiver and that when you are taking care of yourself, you are better able to care for others.
In a world of “how is your care receiver doing with their health?” we ask, “how are YOU?” and we truly want to know the answer.
Let us spread the love to you this February by joining us in an activity or support group… whether you come in person or virtually, we want to see you.

If you see something you’d like to participate in but your care receiver needs someone by their side, let’s talk about Adult Day Services, right on site with our programs, so you don’t need to make any extra stops.

We can’t wait to get to know you. Reach out with any questions or concerns… you are not alone!
Feel free to pass this information along to anyone who might be interested, share with your family members, and anyone who also helps you in supporting you or your care receiver.

Feeling Stretched as a Caregiver?

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself.

This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, improve communication, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources. The caregiver class consists of six sessions held once a week. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the “tools” you choose and put them into action for your life.

Participants will receive a book, The Caregiver Helpbook. The class and the book are free to participants.

Classes will be held in-person (AG East-Sioux Falls) or via Zoom
Thursdays, Feb. 5th – March 12th 1:30-3:00pm (CDT).

For more information or to register, contact Meghan Clark 605-333-3312 mclark@activegen.org
Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required.

Did you know that social isolation can put your health at risk?
Social isolation and loneliness can increase a person's risk for:
Heart disease and stroke.
Type 2 diabetes.
Depression and anxiety.
Dementia
And more...

Joining a community of people who understand you and care for you can dramatically improve your life in more ways than meets the eye. If you as a caregiver or your care receiver are feeling alone, reach out to ask how our free/donation based program can help decrease isolation. Winter is long and can exasperate these feelings!
