Dry Needling vs. Acupuncture - what's the difference?

It's a question we hear often, and it's a great one! Both use very fine needles, but the intention behind each is a little different.

✨ 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 is rooted in musculoskeletal anatomy with a physical therapy lens. It targets tight or overactive muscles (think: those deep "knots" that just won't quit) to help release tension and restore movement. 🤸♀️

✨ 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, on the other hand, comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine and focuses on balancing the body's energy flow, or "Qi", along specific meridians.

So while the tools look similar, the why and how are what set them apart.
