Forrest “Stan” Sharkey was hopping freight trains out of Indianapolis and living under a bridge in Bismarck. By 15, he was working nights as a hotel elevator operator for just $1 a day. He still chuckles as he recalls the characters he met and the stories that came with the job—just a glimpse into the many colorful memories he shares with his trademark humor.

We had a great turnout for "Hot Topics & Hot Chocolate." We absolutely love hearing our residents talk about their past! Some of the questions asked yesterday included: Did you ever break curfew or sneak out when you were younger? What is something you would like to ask your mom or dad? What is the best gift you've ever given or received? We can't wait to do it again!

From breakfast we toured Sioux Falls a bit, slowly making our way to a wonderful Veterans Program at The Alliance. After the program our Veterans received free haircuts at Great Clips and we finished up with lunch at Roam. Thank you to everyone that made this day possible!
