The evolution of growth…

When Origin Health Chiropractic & Wellness opened in 2020, we always had the dream of expanding services beyond Chiropractic to incorporate more aspects of what keeps us well. A year later, the branch of Origin Strength was born.

Lead by Rory and Kelly Witt, Origin Strength started as a Nutrition Focused Program to help clients attain health and fitness goals that would allow them to live the life they desire.

As we’ve been blessed by growth, opportunity, and kick ass people in our community, Origin Strength is now expanding into a gym setting! This will allow coaches to include movement and resistance training to increase fitness, strength, and endurance for our clients.

By combining intentional movement, focused nutrition, and a supportive community, we can create more opportunities for people to take back their own health.

We aren’t satisfied with just coasting through life.
We aren’t okay with being “fine”.
We won’t settle for complacency.
And neither should you.

Join us in a short couple months as we create a New Standard for what health and wellness looks like in Sioux Falls and the surrounding region.

The first step is always the hardest…

Overcome Inertia.

Inertia (in·er·tia) - a tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged.

Inertia is a proven property of physics that is a constant in our universe. It is the force that RESISTS change. An object at rest will remain at rest until acted upon by a greater, outside force. A ball won't roll until you push it. A car won't move until the engine forces it. A rock will sit in the same place unless something strong enough picks it up and moves it. You get the point.

We experience inertia with our own lives as well. We KNOW what we need to be doing to lose the weight. We KNOW the call we need to make to repair a broken relationship. We KNOW the bad habits that are holding us back financially. So why don't we just do it? We need to overcome Inertia.

The hardest step is always the first one. As physics tells us, the amount of energy required to overcome inertia MUST be greater than our natural tendency to remain comfortable, do nothing, stay "as is". It can feel overwhelming to hire a nutrition coach, sign up for a gym membership, or talk to your doctor about working towards getting off your medications. But once you take that first step, the second becomes a little bit easier. And the third is easier than that. And so on, and so on because the opposite is true: an object in motion will want to remain in motion unless acted upon by a greater force".

We can't force you to take the first step, but we promise to help you make progress and generate momentum when you do. One step at a time, one day at a time, you got this. You already have everything you need, decide, and take action.

Day #1. Drink something warm.

Keep it super simple with drinking warm water or add an extra health boost and Vitamin C with warm lemon water. Drinking warm water first thing in the AM can aid in stimulating the digestive fire aka digestion, help with nasal congestion, soothe sore throats, and can make you feel comforted when the temperatures are cold. Or add in more unique flavors and sip on your favorite organic tea such an ginger, matcha, cinnamon chai, etc. which can have their own health benefits.

Also, drinking a warm beverage in the evening is a nice way to wind down after a busy day instead of reaching for that glass of red or alcoholic nightcap. You just might sleep more soundly too.

A favorite warm winter drink is Turmeric Golden Milk. It is creamy and healing with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. The ingredients may also promote healthy digestion, improve sleep and boost immunity which don’t we all need this time of year?

Recipe:
•milk of choice-raw whole milk, coconut, almond, whatever.
•1 tsp turmeric powder
•pinch of black pepper
•1/2 tsp cinnamon
•1/2 tsp ginger
•1 scoop of collagen peptide powder
•sweeten to taste with raw honey
•pour over with hot water. I prefer to heat the water on the stove in a tea kettle to avoid using the microwave.
•froth
•enjoy and cozy up!

She’s fierce, loyal, kind, strong, gentle and full of life. She’s the best wife, mother, business partner and queen a guy could ask for.
She’s the heart and soul of our family and she gives that everyday.
