CLAN HOUSE TOUR – In front from left, Xéetl'ee Katelyn Stiles, Kayáa Tonya Dumville and Gushgéh Lisa Killinger pore over the 1920-1945 map of clan houses in the Sitka Indian Village compiled by Yic Xa' Gil Truitt. The "clan house walk" along Kaagwaantaan and Katlian Streets on Nov. 22 followed the historic map. Only about nine Tlingit clan houses listed in Truitt's map are currently standing. Some two dozen people participated in the Native American Heritage Month walk that Dumville organized. She dedicated the event to Yeilt'ooch' Tláa Collyne Bunn of Teslin and Whitehorse, who had the idea for the walk before she passed away in May. (Sentinel Photo by James Poulson)
