Today we passed HCR3 to allow Louisiana to temporarily cover SNAP benefits ensuring our most vulnerable - disabled veterans, elderly, and children - do not go hungry, while Chuck Schumer and the Democrats in the federal government hold food funding hostage & keep the government shut down. They're willing to let people starve in order to play political games.

Immediately after, we passed SR1 requesting a reimbursement, citing precedent, to recoup the costs of the federal program.

Miscarriage… A Silent Pain Many Women Carry

Not every pregnancy ends with a baby in a mother’s arms. Some end in tears, questions, and silence. Miscarriage is not just the loss of a pregnancy—it’s the loss of dreams, hopes, and the future you already pictured in your heart.

To every woman who has experienced miscarriage: it is not your fault. You did nothing wrong. Sometimes, life takes a turn we don’t understand, and the little angel we carried could not stay.

Your tears are valid. Your pain is real. And your story matters.

If you’ve walked this road, know that you are not alone. Many women have felt this same grief, and many have gone on to hold healthy babies in their arms afterward. Healing takes time, but light will shine again.
