To the One Direction Healthcare family:

Due to Hurricane IDA we will be CLOSED until Tuesday September 7, 2021!

Our staff had evacuated to be with their family as this time. Some of our staff has to deal with family personal manners in dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane IDA. We would hope that everyone can understand our frustration just as well as you all. At this time we will not be able to get into the clinic or send any medications at this time! This is out of our control. We will handle this situation best as possible with the conditions that we are under! We pray that you and your family are safe.

If it is an emergency please go to nearest er or have pharmacy provide you with an emergency prescription if it is a life sustaining drug. You may use your patient portal. We I’ll do our best to respond if service permits.

I just want to take the time to thank all of our patients for their continued support. I sm very passionate about what I do, and it disturbs when people slander and make false accusations about me and this practice. Though we are not perfect, we strive very hard to provide quality care and put you first. It has been a difficult year for everyone, and I empathize with you.

The affects of the covid 19 virus has left many of us with uncertainties. We will begin providing telemed visits starting this Tuesday 8/17/2021.

We are changing EMR systems. I thank you for your patience as we transition into a new medical record system. This system will help us to meet your demands and improve our communication process. We are trying really hard to have a streamlined process to be more available for our patients and to communicate more efficiently. We ask that You utilize the patient portal for communication if you have any problems or concerns.

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact our One Direction Family. I pray that everyone remains safe and healthy in these trying times. I love you all.

Meet the Doctor

Dr. Melissa J. Watson is a graduate of the University of South Alabama. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner credential by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Dillard University 1998, a Master Degree in Nursing and Business Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix in 2003, a Post Master Certificate from the University of South Alabama in 2014, and a Doctorate of Nurse Practice in 2015 with a specialty in education.

Dr. Watson has over 21 years of nursing experience in various patient care areas predominately in critical care, cardiac, nursing education, and family medicine. Dr. Watson strives to promote a clinical practice that focuses on disease prevention and health maintenance. Her passion is quality patient-goal oriented care and believes that good patient care should be viewed holistically to incorporate mind, body, and spiritual well- being. More importantly, establishing a trusting relationship of care with her patients is the corner stone to compliance and optimizing great outcomes.
