Our practice serves as the Division of Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery for Albany Medical Center’s Department of Ophthalmology. As such, we maintain an academic environment full of active learning and information exchange which results in the highest quality care for our patients. Our mission is to provide world-class eye care to the people of Upstate New York and the surrounding area in a patient-friendly, comfortable environment. Schultze and Eden are experts in eye care and have assembled a highly trained staff along with state-of-the art equipment in order to provide the best medical or surgical care possible in both routine and complex cases. The doctors are experienced pioneers and leaders in their field and were the first in the area to perform Endothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK), Custom LASIK, Blade-Free LASIK, Stem Cell Transplantation, Artificial Cornea (Keratoprosthesis), Phakic IOL and Restor multifocal IOL. They regularly conduct research projects and attend major national and international meetings where they present their data and strive to stay abreast of any new developments in their field. We are also very involved with the area’s Lions Clubs in their primary charitable mission of restoring and maintaining sight in those individuals requiring assistance. While their particular area of expertise lies in pathology of the ocular surface, cornea, iris and lens, our doctors see patients with a wide variety of eye conditions and severity. Should your needs be determined to fall outside of our scope of expertise, we maintain a referral network of the finest practitioners both in and outside of the area. If we are not the best doctors for your particular situation, we know who is and we will send you there.
