Another fun facts friday coming at you. Don’t bee afraid to replace your sugar with honey (still in moderation of course). Honey has been used medicinally for centuries for all sorts of ailments from burns, cuts, and scrapes to sore throats and coughs. It’s always good to keep some local honey in your house for eating and allergies!

Manuka honey is a special type of prized honey sought after for its medicinal properties. Particularly because it contains a higher concentration of methylglyoxal (MGO) which is one of the main components responsible for honey’s antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Honey is a powerful superfood and bees help pollinate about 1/3 of the food we consume. There has been a steady decline in bee populations over the years due to multiple factors including pesticides, habitat loss, disease and other factors. This is a serious issue but we can all help boost food source and habitat. Consider planting some wildflowers or other pollinator friendly plants not just bees but all pollinators.

Always remember to keep a posit-hive attitude.
Don’t worry bee happy! Bee-lieve in yourself!
