Yesterday, we organized a bean bag toss game, which was observed by a squirrel. The event was highly enjoyable, and everyone had a good laugh. The remainder of the day was allocated to room visits and self-directed activities. This morning, we prepared frozen yogurt, which everyone savored for supper this evening. It was indeed delicious. Prior to lunch, we engaged in a game of hangman, and I successfully stumped the participants. However, after receiving a hint, they were able to provide the correct answer. This afternoon, the VFW ladies visited and hosted a bingo session. Cathi prepared delectable brownies and Rice Krispies. I made popcorn 🍿 because who can resist popcorn! We extend our gratitude to the ladies for their assistance throughout the day. Dr. Overmiller was present at our facility, and the residents encouraged him to take a break and relax for a short while, during which he participated in bingo with them. We appreciate Dr. Overmiller's willingness to take time out of his busy schedule to engage in bingo with our residents, which undoubtedly made their day.

Wow what a week we are having! We hope yours has gone well also! Today was all about spreading love and kindness. The Dietary Manager Kristy and the Activities Director Katie worked tirelessly in the kitchen to make it a special day. We created Valentines Day Donut holes for Coffee and Rolls and they were a huge hit with everyone. Thank you Lori for your dedication to visiting us every Friday, the residents truly adore seeing you! For Valentine’s Day lunch, Kristy and Katie made homemade pizza at the residents' request and it was absolutely amazing! We are grateful to Kristy and everyone for all their help today to make sure everything ran smoothly. The residents were thrilled with the homemade pizza, delicious sugar cookies, salad, and garlic bread sticks! This afternoon, we came together for a fun game of bingo and enjoyed the scrumptious cupcakes made by the VFW Auxiliary Club especially for the residents on Valentines Day. 💗 Of course Nurse Grandma Michele bought Daisy Mae a Valentines Day dress and she wore it well today!

What a delightful, picturesque day we have had! We could easily adapt to this weather on a daily basis! We commenced our day by creating Valentine cards to send to other Mission Health nursing homes; residents thoroughly enjoyed this activity. Prior to lunch, we incorporated exercises and stretches into our routine! Following lunch, a group of us boarded the bus and took a leisurely tour of Smith Center, observing and reminiscing about the changes that have occurred over the years in Smith Center. During our excursion, we made a brief stop at Jiffy Burger to indulge in some delectable ice cream! 🍨 The residents had an exceptionally enjoyable time and appreciated the opportunity to spend time outdoors! Thank you to our Social Worker Lori for driving us around, we appreciated it!

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend. On Friday, we had coffee and muffins with friends and family. We participated in exercises prior to lunch and completed our Valentine’s Day boxes in the afternoon. On Saturday, we engaged in self-directed activities and took some downtime. Today, we had the pleasure of puppy pug snuggles with Nurse Michele’s new puppy, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, Christinanna brought in her blind dog for further dog therapy. Our residents appreciate any opportunity for animal interaction. Thank you ladies for sharing your fur babies with us. ❤️

What a busy last couple of days we've had. Yesterday, we commenced our day with a sing-along, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Next, Pastor David from SC Nazarene Church provided a Bible study, and we extend our gratitude to David; we appreciate his dedication immensely. Yesterday afternoon, we engaged in another round of bingo and relished each other's company. This morning, we began our day collaborating with Lori on creating our February border for our whiteboard, an activity the residents consistently enjoy, and we appreciate Lori's time and effort. During this time, we designed and decorated our little tree with Valentine's decorations. Prior to lunch, we participated in chair exercises and stretches. This afternoon, we played UNO, and it was remarkably entertaining, showcasing the residents' competitive spirit. 😂
