What a delightful, picturesque day we have had! We could easily adapt to this weather on a daily basis! We commenced our day by creating Valentine cards to send to other Mission Health nursing homes; residents thoroughly enjoyed this activity. Prior to lunch, we incorporated exercises and stretches into our routine! Following lunch, a group of us boarded the bus and took a leisurely tour of Smith Center, observing and reminiscing about the changes that have occurred over the years in Smith Center. During our excursion, we made a brief stop at Jiffy Burger to indulge in some delectable ice cream! šŸØ The residents had an exceptionally enjoyable time and appreciated the opportunity to spend time outdoors! Thank you to our Social Worker Lori for driving us around, we appreciated it!

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend. On Friday, we had coffee and muffins with friends and family. We participated in exercises prior to lunch and completed our Valentine’s Day boxes in the afternoon. On Saturday, we engaged in self-directed activities and took some downtime. Today, we had the pleasure of puppy pug snuggles with Nurse Michele’s new puppy, which the residents thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, Christinanna brought in her blind dog for further dog therapy. Our residents appreciate any opportunity for animal interaction. Thank you ladies for sharing your fur babies with us. ā¤ļø

What a productive day we had. We commenced creating Valentine’s Day boxes today and will complete them tomorrow. We are eager to see the final results. This afternoon, the VFW ladies visited and hosted bingo, and a great time was had by all. Cathi generously provided delicious sugar cookies and root beer floats, which greatly enhanced our day. We extend our gratitude to Cathi for the treats. We appreciate the ladies’ efforts and enjoy their company.

What a busy last couple of days we've had. Yesterday, we commenced our day with a sing-along, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Next, Pastor David from SC Nazarene Church provided a Bible study, and we extend our gratitude to David; we appreciate his dedication immensely. Yesterday afternoon, we engaged in another round of bingo and relished each other's company. This morning, we began our day collaborating with Lori on creating our February border for our whiteboard, an activity the residents consistently enjoy, and we appreciate Lori's time and effort. During this time, we designed and decorated our little tree with Valentine's decorations. Prior to lunch, we participated in chair exercises and stretches. This afternoon, we played UNO, and it was remarkably entertaining, showcasing the residents' competitive spirit. šŸ˜‚

We hope you had a pleasant weekend. On Friday, we appreciated the opportunity to enjoy coffee and long johns. Although the weather was inclement, some individuals still participated. We extend our gratitude to Lori for braving the cold to volunteer. Prior to lunch, we engaged in chair exercises and stretches. Following lunch, Stan and his wife visited and performed piano music and sang several songs. We appreciate their willingness to brave the cold to participate. Subsequently, Darcy arrived, and we conducted nail care services while engaging in conversation. We thank Darcy for braving the cold to ensure the ladies' nails were well-groomed. We sincerely appreciate her efforts. Today, we commenced our day with a dragon fruit tasting session. Although we remain uncertain about our opinion of the fruit, we enjoyed learning interesting facts and sampling it. Prior to lunch, we dedicated time to chair exercises and stretches. This afternoon, we gathered for bingo, snacks, and refreshments, followed by shopping in the gift shop. ā¤ļø

Hello and Happy Kansas Day! We commenced our day with a Kansas Day coloring activity and enjoyed each other's company. We discussed various ways we have commemorated Kansas Day over the years. Prior to lunch, we engaged in current events related to Kansas. This afternoon, the Smith Center VFW Auxiliary ladies graciously hosted bingo for the residents. Cathi, as always, prepared homemade treats for the residents, which consistently brighten their day. We extend our gratitude to the ladies for visiting and hosting bingo; we appreciate your efforts immensely. Of course Daisy Mae came in to spread puppy cheer for the residents also. They adore her 🄰

Wednesdays are busy, as most days are. The residents appreciate Wednesdays because Betty visits and provides hair care services. We are grateful for her weekly visits on Wednesdays to attend to the residents' hair needs. Lori also volunteers her time on Wednesdays, engaging in various activities with the residents; we value her company and appreciate her contributions. This morning, we created glitter glue snowflakes ā„ļø and are eager to showcase them once they dry. Prior to lunch, we participated in chair exercises and stretches. This afternoon, we held a men's group session, during which some of the male residents and I simply socialized and enjoyed Chex mix. We also benefit from puppy snuggles, which are appreciated by both residents and staff. Animals can bring significant joy!
