Sounds like tomorrow's storm will just be a dusting, but still ready. Get those hearing protection devices anyplace you buy tools. If you want to be fancy, get active hearing protection. These let sound in until there is loud noise and then they attenuate.
Anytime the weather is iffy, feel free to call before your appt and check conditions. Never feel badly to postpone a visit. We want people to be safe!

This blast from the past popped up in memories! Two years ago, we spent the long weekend building the sound booth to reopen in the temporary office at Linwood. We are forever grateful to the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce for the temporary office that allowed us to regroup and rebuild! We loved that cozy space, the water fall, the swans, but most of all the amazing people we met at the BVCC office! Jeannie, Liz, Kristen and all of the people we met in the business incubator welcomed us and cheered us on ❤️

How does your family get ready for Thanksgiving? Polish silver, cook, bake, iron tablecloth, pull out those family heirloom serving pieces, drive or fly. ..
Just a reminder to clean your hearing devices, make sure everything is working. If your family is big and noisy, at Thanksgiving dinner, turn off unnecessary extraneous noise. Seat yourself so people aren't back lit say by a sliding glass door. Sit near the soft talker. If you have extra programs, don't forget to try them. We have a few short appointments left this week. If you need a quick clean and check, call us. The office is closing mid day on Wednesday, we will be back Monday morning. Hear joy this week! Happy Thanksgiving!!

A plug for my fav speech language pathologist!! We met about 25 years ago. She was seeing Early Intervention kiddos that were also on my caseload. We started with monthly calls that turned into, "let's get take out and meet at my office" to discuss the kiddos we shared. We also worked together as board members of Mass Speech and Hearing. If you know anyone in need of a pediatric speech language pathologist, I can not recommend her highly enough!

On Dec 5 at the Sutton office and Dec 10 at the Esmond library in Smithfield, we will be offering a 1 hour talk on these types of practical tips, a listening practice app called "Lace" (I think of it like wordle for your listening skills), advances in Bluetooth accessibility and some tinnitus tips. If you like, you can even listen to the talk through demo hearing aids. We are really excited to offer this talk that we think of as "beyond the hearing aids". Call either office and reserve your seat!!
