Kristina is a compassionate birth assistant & postpartum nurse who supports families in those tender moments during and after birth. With her calm presence, Kristina she provides thoughtful care for both baby and parents — from newborn assessments to answering questions and offering reassurance when it’s needed most.

Kristina is deeply committed to helping families feel confident, supported, and cared for as they settle into life with their new baby. We’re so grateful to have her as part of the Gaia team!

If you know her, you love her! Laure is a midwife whose path to midwifery began with her own birth experiences and a deep love for supporting women and families. Originally from France, her journey has taken her around the world, shaping her thoughtful, open-hearted approach to care.

With years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, Laure brings warmth, wisdom, and a calming presence to every birth she attends. We are so grateful for her passion for physiologic birth and we're honored to have her on the Gaia team!

Rachel’s journey to midwifery is rooted in both science and heart. With a background in natural sciences and nursing, she was drawn to working holistically with women and families and to supporting physiologic birth through evidence-based care.

Our Story

Gaia Midwives is an independent practice offering midwifery services to families on Long Island. With privileges at Nassau University Medical Center, our midwives can attend births at the only hospital on Long Island that offers water birth. Our services also include home birth to clients who have low risk pregnancies with the ability to safely transfer to a higher level of care when needed. In addition, Gaia Midwives can provide well-woman care throughout the life-cycle.
