Congratulations to our winner, nurse Samantha Suruj, nominated by one of her former patients, recognizing Samantha for the compassionate care she offered during the patient’s numerous hospitalizations.

The patient noted how Samantha “showed the highest level of compassion and her demeanor always being calm…. I am blessed to have her as my nurse. St. Catherine’s is very lucky to have a nurse with the compassion and care she shows to people.”

Thank you Samantha for all you do for our patients, fulfilling our Catholic Health mission- every patient, every encounter, every time!

St. Catherine of Siena Hospital continued its Breast Cancer Awareness events with our annual “Pink Ribbon” celebration at a new venue this year at Insignia. Breast cancer survivors and their loved ones enjoyed a nice evening together, with an educational breast health update provided by Dr. Veera who gave praise to the breast surgery and breast radiology teams led by Dr. Jana Deitch, Dr. Stephanie Sims and Dr. Anne Green.

One of our patients, Marion Ciecirski, talked about her routine mammogram with Dr. Green with suspicious finding, multiple biopsies by Dr. Sims, followed by surgery with Dr. Deitch. Marion, a St. Catherine OR nurse, expressed her gratitude to the entire breast health team for seeing her through this difficult time in her life, and feels confident she is in the right hands.
