I’ve always been a big proponent of good nutrition because what we eat has a hand in so many chronic conditions. Researchers now link nutrition with brain health. Check out the MIND diet, created by researchers at Rush University Medical Center. It seems to forestall Alzheimer’s disease, boost brain health and slow cognitive decline in stroke survivors.

Like most people, I consider gray as part of the aging process, until a recent study found that stress plays a role. Yes, people have been joking about stress and gray hair for decades, but now it supported through new research. Here’s what you need to know.

Most of us appreciate the wisdom that comes with age, but not the gray hair. Age and genes are probably the most widely accepted reasons for hair color loss. But thyroid conditions and low vitamin B12 levels also can play a role, as can stress, according a study published in Nature.

For nights that I just want a light dinner, this recipe for Chopped Greek Salad with Chicken is my answer. It’s an easy to prepare dinner salad with substantial ingredients that make it a great a main course.

Chicken turns this Greek-inspired salad into a substantial main course. Feel free to substitute other chopped fresh vegetables, such as broccoli or bell peppers, for the tomatoes or cucumber. Use leftover chicken, store-roasted chicken or quickly poach a couple boneless, skinless chicken breasts whi...

If you’re prediabetic or have type 2 diabetes, you may have heard that eating six small meals a day instead of three big ones can help control blood sugar levels. However, a recent study suggests three larger meals may be more effective. Check out this blog.

For years, experts recommended eating smaller meals more frequently for weight and blood sugar control. However, new studies are showing that eating three meals a day including a calorie dense breakfast is more effective.

As you get older, managing your weight becomes increasingly more difficult. Your metabolism slows, you lose muscle mass and your hormones don’t help as much. But if you’re eating a clean diet, exercising regularly and limiting your caloric intake — and the scale is still rising — it may have something to do with the turnover of fat in your cells. This study explains why. Let me know if you have questions.
