As a therapist I strive to meet my clients where they are emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I believe in creating a warm, safe and trusting space that will allow us, as therapist and client, to work through the challenges being faced.

I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, sexual and physical abuse, PTSD, anxiety, depression and low self esteem. I believe in taking a nonjudgmental stance in addressing my client's challenges, and I aim to implement appropriate, effective, empirically supported treatment.

I am accepting new clients! Call today to schedule a free phone consultation at 631-487-2633 or email me at Ggreco.soulfulliving@yahoo.com

Trauma can alter our brain function in many different ways. The three most important changes happen in these part of the brain:

1. The prefrontal cortex (PFC), known as the “Thinking Center”

2. The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), known as the “Emotion Regulation Center”

3. The amygdala, known as the “Fear Center”

An inside look at the traumatized brain, and how you can start to heal.

Stories like this break my heart. We as a community can do more. Our legal system can do more to protect victims of intimate partner violence. When a victim comes forward about a concern involving an abuser we need to take it serious. We need to act, we need to protect the victim and their families. Two young children are now left motherless due to intimate partner violence.

•The presence of a gun in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of homicide by 500%
•19% of domestic violence involves a weapon

A young mom of two was shot dead in front of her mother in Brooklyn on Sunday night, and the victim’s ex-boyfriend later turned himself in to cops, police said. Sade Sanchez, 24, was blasted …

Hello Everyone! Thank you for coming by and liking my page! I wanted to share with everyone a little bit about myself and the work that I am so passionate about.

My name is Gina Greco and I am a licensed Master Social Worker. I received my degree from Stony Brook University with a cm laude specialization in trauma. After school I began working in the field of Addiction. I ran sobriety groups, a women group where we discussed trauma and addiction as well as met with clients individually to meet their goals for therapy. After working in Addiction I decided to pursue my specialization further and work solely with survivors of r**e and sexual assault. I ran a weekly support group, and met with clients for individual sessions. Weekly we would work on goals and I enjoyed watching my clients progress throughout treatment. Along with working full time in an agency, I worked part time in private practice for two years.

As a therapist I wanted more for my clients. I felt restricted by the work I could do in an agency and decided to take the leap and go into private practice full time! I am glad that I took this leap and found it to be extremely rewarding. I believe in a holistic approach to therapy, which promotes the healing, development, and integration of all aspects of one's life in order to lead a more fulfilling and purposeful life. I deeply enjoy challenging my clients to look at things from a different perspective, and I believe in the law of attraction - the idea that what you put out into the universe is what you get back from it.

Bring me your true self. I promise to create a relaxing, non-judgmental environment for you to privately express what you really need to. I know how scary it can be taking the first steps to work towards personal goals. Therapy can be fulfilling and healing for both you and the people who matter most to you.

I subscribe to the fact there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. We will spend time understanding exactly what you are experiencing and why so that when you start making changes that improve your life, they will stick.
