Mother Nurture Breastfeeding Marianne Ames, IBCLC, RLC, provides wholistic & comprehensive breastfeeding care. However, at times, phone/email support or a brief appointment may suffice.

I am a private-practice international board certified lactation consultant, IBCLC, and provide evidence-based information and comprehensive, skilled assistance to help you through the joys and challenges of breastfeeding. Services, Fees & Payment Information

Initial consultation
The initial one-on-one consultation usually runs about 1-2+ hours. An in-depth breastfeeding history will be taken, a comprehensive assessment will be done and a care plan will be provided. Phone/email follow up and in person follow up appointment (30 minutes no charge) for initial breastfeeding concern is included and encouraged. Appointments will take place in the comfort of your own home*. $185.00 *an extra $10.00 travel fee for home visits may apply if you are beyond the service area (area is generally a 20 miles radius from zip code 98290

Phone/email consultations
In general breastfeeding support is best done in person, where a visual assessment can be done. At these times, our hourly rate is pro-rated. $50.00/hr

Private Prenatal Breastfeeding Education
Learn about breastfeeding as a couple or on your own. In this 2-hour, interactive class, we cover breastfeeding expectations, strategies for success and how to avoid complications. Topics include breastfeeding techniques, various nursing positions and comfort holds, maternal diet considerations, ni**le care, leaking, tips for Dad feedings, the advantages of human milk over supplementation, pumping, building your community of support and more. *$60.00 for 1 couple, $35.00 for 2 or more couples

Returning to Work Consultation
Create a customized plan for re-entering the out-of-home work force while breastfeeding. $60.00/hr

Payment Information
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, check or credit card via Paypal or Square. I believe all mothers deserve compassionate lactation care and financial situations will not be a barrier to consultation. Please contact me for payment plans and sliding scale options. Insurance
While I do not bill insurance on your behalf, I do try to make sure you have all the necessary paperwork you may need to submit for reimbursement. I can not guarantee my services will be covered by your company. Some families also choose to use funds from their pre-tax medical spending accounts to cover lactation services. Please check with your plan or account provider to see what options you may have.

If she cringes every time she feeds her baby, breastfeeding may be considerably worse for her and her child than formula feeding.
