You may have noticed that opening your button batteries has become more difficult. This is due to Reese’s Law, a federal safety regulation requiring all button and coin cell batteries to be sold in child-resistant packaging. The goal is to prevent young children from easily accessing batteries that can pose serious risks if swallowed.

While the new packaging greatly improves safety, it can also be more challenging for adults, particularly individuals with arthritis, limited hand strength, or other mobility concerns.

To support you, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide with practical tips on how to open the packaging safely and without unnecessary strain. We hope this resource helps make your battery changes smoother and more comfortable!

Snyder’s own Dr. Arnold is Coming Home

We have some exciting changes coming to our Snyder office and we wanted you to be the first to know! We’re getting a new look! We are creating a more welcoming space for patients by adding our very own waiting room! You're going to love it! Our office will be closed for renovation from, July 15th and will re-open August 4th.

During that time, our Lubbock and Big Spring offices are available to service your hearing needs. We also have virtual appointments available if you would like to see an audiologist online. We are saying goodbye to Dr. Beck who will be moving to Big Spring where we are running our Tinnitus Management Program to help patients in West Texas who suffer from ringing in their ears. These ventures will be her focus going forward, but she has loved the opportunity to serve you in Snyder!

And finally, we are welcoming home our very own Dr. Courtney Arnold who is a West Texas native and grew up in Snyder. Many of you probably know her parents Mike and Tammy Tyrrel and her in-laws, Joey and Diane Arnold, who all reside in Snyder.

She received her doctorate of audiology at Texas Tech Health Science Center (TTUHSC) along with her bachelor of science degree in communication disorders. Dr. Arnold is thrilled about coming back to work in her home town, saying, “I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with each and every one of you!”
