We had so much fun participating in this challenge! Our jobs require a lot of sitting, but the friendly competition of getting our steps in reminded us to get up and get moving between sessions.

Walking, especially outdoors, is so beneficial for both mental and physical health.

Congrats to the winning team!

Announcing our 2026 Winter Edition of Walk Across Texas Top Walkers and Top Team. Across the board, our walkers went well above and beyond the program goal of 832 miles per team and 104 miles per walker!

Last week one of our counselors, Karla, attended the Texas Substance Use Symposium in San Antonio, TX. The symposium is a 2-day annual conference dedicated to reducing the impact of substance use in Texas. Karla has extensive experience in the area of addiction and recovery and conducts drug and alcohol assessments in our clinic in partnership with the probation office.

We are always grateful when our providers have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the field!

We asked our providers what they're currently reading or which book they often recommend. This week, Rachael is sharing her most-recommended book: Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker, PhD.

She says "I reference this book often in therapy. Sleep is one of my biggest soap boxes when I'm working with clients, especially teens. The neuroscientific research presented in this book is incredibly compelling and I encourage everyone read it!"

Did you know that consistency in your sleep schedule is just as important - if not more important - than the total number of hours you get each night? Your brain and body thrive on routine, and even small shifts can make a big difference in how you feel.

Tell us, how much sleep do you get each night?

Check back next Friday for another staff highlight!

Our BRIDGE Team is our newest effort on expanding access to community Mental Health care. Officially launched in January 2026, our mission is to provide compassionate outreach by meeting people where they are - in homes, neighborhoods, schools, and throughout the community - alongside local law enforcement.

We are currently partnered with the City of Snyder Police Department, the Scurry County Sheriff's Office, and Snyder Independent School District. As the team continues to develop, expand, and build rapport, you may see our clinicians riding along with participating officers. These officers are certified as Mental Health Peace Officers, trained to respond effectively and safely during mental health‑related calls.

We look forward to strengthening relationships, increasing access to support, and being a steady presence in the community we serv

Feeling uncertain about group therapy? Let our clinicians answer your questions through a complimentary, individual intake session. This first session is an opportunity to meet our staff, discuss your individualized needs, and go further in depth about what our program has to offer.

We are fully staffed to provide well-rounded care with Licensed Clinicians, a Registered Nurse, a Certified Nursing Assistant, and a Medical Director who is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist.

Introducing Mindful Mondays- a weekly pause for a moment of winding down. Mondays can feel heavy, rushed, or demanding. This series is here to offer a softer start to your week.

😌Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the moment you are in. You don't have to have a yoga mat or 30-minute ritual to practice mindfulness. It is as simple as pausing for a moment, taking a breath, observing the way the sunlight is coming in through the window, or stopping to smile at yourself in the mirror. These simple moments slowly train the brain to stay present.

How are you practicing mindfulness today?

Sundays are for slowing down.
If your body or mind is asking for rest, that’s reason enough. Productivity can wait, but your well‑being can’t.
Here’s your gentle reminder to breathe, soften your shoulders, and take things at a human pace today.

This past weekend our director, TeriJo Gonzales, MA, LPC-S, was invited to speak at a girls retreat centered on the theme “God’s Masterpiece.” She braved the windy cold weather to share about anxiety and how mental health tools can be bridged with scripture.

Referencing Matthew 6:25-34 and Psalm 23:1-6, the discussion focused on how God created nature and encourages us to ground ourselves in green pastures and refresh our souls near still waters. TeriJo shared the meaningful quote “worrying is a down payment on a problem you may never have.”

It was a meaningful time connecting faith, mental health, and practical tools for everyday life. We’re grateful for the opportunity to encourage and support students from communities across the region.

A special thank you to the retreat leaders Ronda White and Brittany Smith for the invitation and for the work they’re doing to invest in young women.
