Jose Guadalupe Espinosa, 64, of Snyder, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2026, in Snyder, Texas. He was born on August 19, 1961, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Ramon Espinosa and Diega Espinosa.

Arrangements are pending under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Jose was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was a loving and caring man who found great joy in his family and took pride in his children and grandchildren. His kindness and dedication to those he loved will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons: Jose Antonio Espinosa of San Luis Potosí, Mexico; Cruz De Jesus Espinosa of Snyder, Texas; Jose Luis Espinosa of Snyder, Texas; Marco Antonio Espinosa of San Luis Potosí, Mexico; and Rigoberto Duque of San Luis Potosí, Mexico; his daughters: Maria De Jesus Espinosa, Maria Inocencia Espinosa, and Silvia Guadalupe Espinosa, all of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and Christina Espinosa of Snyder, Texas; his daughter-in-law, Rosemary Torres; and his grandchildren: Jose Champ Espinosa, Jailee Espinosa, Jevlyn Espinosa, and Jenelda Espinosa, all of Snyder, Texas, along with 11 additional grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers: Jose Espinosa, Ramon Espinosa, and Mercedes Espinosa, all of San Luis Potosí, Mexico; his sisters: Teresa Espinosa, Josefina Espinosa, and Maria Espinosa, all of San Luis Potosí, Mexico; and his ex-wife, Gloria Duque Mendez of San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Espinosa and Diega Espinosa; his wife, Sulema Martinez; and his son, Estevan Espinosa.

Linda Joyce Prince Kubena, a longtime resident of Scurry County, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her home.

Graveside services for Mrs. Kubena will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Steve Highfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 16, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Linda was born October 23, 1942, in Snyder. She married Jimmie Kubena on September 25, 1959.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Kubena; her parents, Barney and Inez Prince; four brothers, Robert Prince, Jimmy Prince, Milton Prince, and Walter Prince; and five sisters, Bonnie Phipps, Wilma Huckaby, Gaye Underwood, Mary Howell, and Thelma Gardner.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathryn and husband Emmitt Hataway; two sons, Larry and wife Donna Kubena, and Garry and wife Starla Kubena, all of Snyder; two sisters, Donna Isbell and husband James of Tyler, Texas, and JaNelda Scharlz; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Vicki Sue Hawley 70, passed away on February 13, 2026 in Big Spring, Texas. She was born on April 6, 1955, in Crowell, Texas, to Jack and Betty Edwards.

Vicki was a lifelong resident of Westbrook, Texas, a community she loved deeply and where she built a life surrounded by family and friends. She truly loved life and lived it fully. Vicki never met a stranger - only friends she hadn't made yet. Her warm personality, open heart, and welcoming spirit made everyone feel at ease in her presence.

She had a way of brightening up a room simply by walking into it. Whether sharing a story, offering a kind word, or lending a helping hand, Vicki brought comfort and joy to those around her. Her laughter was genuine, her kindness constant, and her love for others unwavering.

Vicki is survived by a daughter Rebecca Webb and husband Terry Webb of Big Spring, one son Clarence Rhea Hawley and wife Scarlett of Colorado City, Texas. Two brothers Steve Edwards and wife Velinda Edwards of Colorado City, Texas, Sonny Edwards and wife Mary of Red Oak, Texas. Sister Misty and husband Jerry of Canada, two sister in-law's Linda Grant of Plainview, Texas and Gayle Taylor and husband Jim of Dickens, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband Neal Hawley, Parents Jack and Betty Edwards. One brother Wayland Edwards. One daughter in-law Dawn Hawley.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Melvin Robert Allen, age 79, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, February 8,
2026, at his home in Carlsbad, NM due to heart failure. He was born on November 17th, 1946, in Portales NM, Roosevelt County, a son of the late Will Francis Allen and Olive Mae (Ollie Mae) Perry Allen.

Funeral service will be held graveside at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15 th , 2026, at
Clairemont Cemetery in Clairemont, TX. with Kenny Miller of Miller Family Funeral Home officiating.

Melvin, or Mel, as he was affectionately known to some, was a shining light in the lives
of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on earth was one marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. His passing has left an emptiness in the hearts of his family and friends. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life suddenly ended, but for the way it was lived.

Melvin was preceded in death by two sons, Marty Allen, and Cory Allen; three brothers,

Charles Allen, Earl Allen, Will Allen Jr.; six sisters, Faye Carrol, Francis Tivis, Wilma Yarbro, Shirley Allen, Norma Gray, and Alice Allen.

Melvin is survived by two daughters, Melissa Allen (Josh) of Ruidoso, NM, and Starlett Detrick (Gary) of Carlsbad, NM; four granddaughters, Catherine Allen (Hatch), Tahnee Ramsey, Bryce Ramsey, and Kierston Allen; two grandsons, Brent Allen, and Keenan Williams; twin brother Elvin Allen and one sister Beverly Warshaw of Snyder, TX. He
also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Melvin served in the Marine Corp enlisting in 1968 being honorably discharged as Corporal in April 1970. Melvin has had several occupations during his lifetime, with particular enjoyment found working on horseback. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Snyder, TX before moving to Carlsbad, NM in 2022. He enjoyed
rocking chairs on the porch, visiting with his neighbors, having breakfast chats with
friends and family, spending time with his children playing games of aggravation or dominoes, and celebrating life with many friends.

Melvin did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and always
made time to help others. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control
our attitudes and to live a life like Christ modeled for us through meaningful acts of love
and service.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we are to his neighbors, who
were there for us on the night of his passing. Also a heartfelt thank you to the Carlsbad EMT,
Firefighters, and Sheriffs department for doing everything they could.

Leonardo (Leon) Gutierrez 79 of Snyder, Texas passed away on Thursday February 5,2026 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on April 22, 1946 in New Braunfels, Texas to Antonio and Gregoria Gutierrez.
The Rosary is set for Sunday February 8,2026 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel in Snyder Texas. The services are set for Monday February 9,2026 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Snyder, Texas, with Father Jeremy Trull officiating services. The Interment will follow at Snyder Cemetery.

Leon Gutierrez was a man known for his big heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family, faith, and community. He met the love of his life, Lupe, in 1960, and the two were married in October of 1963 in Snyder, Texas. Their love story was one of devotion, partnership, and faith that lasted a lifetime.

Leon was a longtime and faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he served in many ways. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, the Eucharistic Ministry, and the Cursillistas. His faith wasn't just something he practiced-it was something he lived every day through kindness, service, and generosity.

He was a hardworking man who didn't know how to say no to helping others. Leon was always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or show up when someone needed him. He was well known and deeply respected in his community because of his caring spirit and willingness to serve.

Leon loved the simple joys of life-fishing, cooking and grilling, working in his yard, dancing, and doing word searches. These everyday moments brought him happiness, and he shared that joy freely with the people around him.

Leon is survived by his loving wife, Lupe Gutierrez; his children Alicia Gutierrez, Vicky Luera and her husband Paul Luera, and Leon Jr. Gutierrez and his wife Maurissa Gutierrez; his 2 sisters and one brother, along with 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who were the pride of his life.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Jessica Gutierrez; his parents, Antonio and Gregoria Gutierrez; three sisters; two brothers; and one great-grandson also his inlaws Juan and Trinidad Lopez.

Leon Gutierrez leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, service, and kindness. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a faithful servant of God, and a man who made a difference simply by being who he was.

His life was a blessing. His memory will live on in every heart he touched.

Luis Becerra Rodriguez, 73, of Snyder, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2026. Born on August 25, 1952, Luis lived a life full of faith, laughter, music, and love for people.

Visitation for Luis is set for Wednesday February 4,2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The services are set for Thursday February 5,2026 at 10:00 am at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is at Snyder Cemetery. After the burial, the family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a meal and time of fellowship beginning at 12:00 p.m. at 1600 Scott Street, Snyder, Texas 79549.

Luis was the kind of man who never met a stranger. Whether he was giving someone a ride, sharing a story, or talking about Jesus, he made people feel seen and cared for. He often joked that he was "Snyder's First Uber," a title he earned by spending years giving free rides to neighbors, friends, and anyone in need across Scurry County and West Texas.

He married the love of his life, Oralia Rodriguez, on June 6, 1969, in Snyder, Texas. Together they built a life rooted in faith and family. Luis was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving grandfather, and a joyful great-grandfather.

Luis loved the simple things-fishing at Lake J.B. Thomas, strumming his acoustic guitar, and listening to oldies, especially Elvis and The Beach Boys. He was known for his signature look of shorts, a hat, and sunglasses year-round, always with a Bible close by and a guitar pick in his pocket. His sense of humor and "Luis-isms" were unforgettable, often delivered with a grin- "I might not be right, but I'm never wrong."

His faith was at the center of everything he did. As a lay evangelist, Luis loved sharing the message that "Jesus Saves," and he truly believed Jesus was the answer to every story. His life was a testimony of kindness, generosity, and unwavering belief in Christ.

Luis is survived by his beloved wife, Oralia Rodriguez; his children and their spouses, Christina and Miguel Quiros, Christopher and Elena Rodriguez, Priscilla Rodriguez, and Jacob and Kristina Rodriguez; ten grandchildren (five boys and five girls); and four great-grandchildren (one boy and three girls). He is also survived by his siblings Domingo Rodriguez of Denver, Colorado; Paul Rodriguez of Abilene, Texas; Raul Rodriguez of Snyder, Texas; and Tony Rodriguez of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gumersindo Galion Rodriguez sand Concepcion Becerra Rodriguez, as well as his brother Isidro Rodriguez and sisters Belia Nakamura and Amanda Hernandez.

Luis will be remembered for his big heart, his joyful spirit, his music, and his deep love for Jesus and people. His legacy lives on in every life he touched-and there were many.

Lida Anniece Trujillo (Hardy), 87, passed away on January 25, 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Anniece was born on July 31, 1938, in Snyder, Texas, to Charles and Florence Hardy.

The visitation for Lida Anniece Trujillo will be on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. Services are set for Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bert Guzman Officiating the service.

Anniece met her true love, Rudy Trujillo, in Pueblo, Colorado. They married on December 18, 1968, in Pueblo, Colorado. They moved to Snyder, Texas, in 1978. Rudy and Anniece opened Rudy's Restaurant in July 1995. She retired from the restaurant business in 2005 to follow her dreams.

You would always catch her in the stands watching her son and grandsons playing baseball. She always enjoyed having all of her grandchildren over and spending time with them. Her favorite saying was "You can have whatever you want at Nona's house.

She is survived by her husband Rudy Trujillo of Snyder, Tx., Sons Cory Trujillo and wife Veronica Trujillo of Snyder, Tx, and Chuck Samons and wife Pauline Samons of Charlotte, NC. Her brothers Bob Hardy of Ingleside, Tx, and Melvin Hardy of Lake Havasu, Az. Her 8 grandchildren, Regan Trujillo of San Angelo, Tx, Zach Deare and wife Aduanei Deare of San Angelo, Tx, Joey Selvera Jr. of Lubbock, Tx, Daniel Selvera of Lubbock, Tx, Jasmine Selvera of Lubbock, Tx, Destiny Selvera of Lubbock, Tx, Chase Samons of Midland, Tx, and Lindsey Samons of Denver, Colorado. 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Florence Hardy, Sons James Bruns and Carl L. Samons. A brother EW Hardy, and two sisters Margaret Fraily and Mae Jean Gonzales.

Richard passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026. Richard was born March 27,1958 to Johnny Blocker & Cecil Pearl Graham in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

The visitation for Richard Blocker will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel. The services are set for Thursday January 29, 2026, at 2:00pm at Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel.

He moved to Snyder, Texas, as a teenager.

Richard met the love of his life, Terri, in 1976 when he was working in the oil fields. They later married on September 3, 1977. They had two children, Emilee Duck and Matthew Blocker. Richard worked in the oil field then went on to being one of the best diesel mechanics around, he could fix just about anything.

Richard was such a giving, caring, selfless person. His goal in life was always to take care of everyone, and he did. Richard loved his family, and he was a fierce protector of them. He loved racing, fishing and hunting. He wore many hats, but his favorite was being a POPS to his grandkids.

Richard was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in June 2022. The tumor was removed twice and Richard stayed on the course and fought hard until he entered the gates of heaven on 1/24/2026

He is survived by his wife Terri Blocker

Palmira G. Alonzo, lovingly known as "Mae," was born on May 1, 1950, in Edroy, Texas, to Salvador and Blanca Garza. She entered eternal rest on January 9th 2026, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, family, and unwavering devotion.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 14, 2026 at,5:00 pm to 6:00 pm and the Rosary will be from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.The services are set for Thursday January 15, 2026 at 2:00pm, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Snyder, Texas. Mae made her home in McAllen, Texas with her children and grandchildren. She was formerly from Snyder, Texas.

Mae was the heart of her family kind, strong, and full of humor. She lived a life grounded in her deep Catholic faith, trusting God in all seasons and leading by quiet example. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived daily through love, compassion , and giving advice to other.

She found her greatest joy in her family. She was also a friend to many. Mae loved cooking meals that brought everyone together, she had a talent in creating arts, crafts, and sewing. She lived her life dedicated to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the purpose of her life. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Everyone loved "Mae Mae".

Mae is survived by her beloved children: one son, Michael Alonzo, and his wife, Pamela; and one daughter, Lisa Ann Blum, and her husband, Dennis. She was a proud grandmother to Olivia Gamayo and her husband, Nathan; Julia Blum and her fiancé, Richard Jackson; and Phoenix Blum. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Alice Mae Gamayo, Halo Everly Blum, and Zion Anikan Jackson.

"She is survived by her final sibling, Rene Garza, a veteran of the Vietnam War."

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Inez Alonzo Jr., affectionately known as "Cowboy"; her parents, Salvador and Blanca Garza; her brothers, Roy Garza, Lee Garza, and Oscar Garza; and her beloved nephew, Oscar Garza Jr. "OG."

Palmira "Mae" Alonzo will be remembered for her gentle strength, her infectious laughter, her generous heart, and her unshakable faith. She especially loved her family. Though she is no longer with us, her love lives on in every life she touched. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones, and resting in the eternal embrace of our Lord.

Joe Thamez Jr., of Snyder, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2025, at the age of 63.

Joe was born on July 9, 1962, in Hamlin, Texas. He was known by many names "Big J" to his beloved grandchildren, and "Joey" to friends and family who knew him best. No matter what you called him, he was deeply loved.

Joe had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. Cycling was especially close to his heart, and he proudly participated in several charity rides, including Hotter 'n Hell Hundred, MS 150, Tour de Cure, Steam-N-Wheels, and many others, riding not only for enjoyment but to support causes that mattered to him. He also took great pride in his trucks. Joe cherished his family and friends and the time he spent with them.

He is survived by his children:
Joseph M. Thamez III and spouse Patty Thamez, Justin Thamez and spouse Erika Thamez, Valarie Hernandez and spouse Ray Hernandez, and Christopher Thamez and spouse Clarissa Thamez. His parents, Teresa Galindo, Joseph M. Thamez Sr. and his wife Paula Thamez. His siblings: Doug Thamez and spouse Teresa Thamez, Nancy Steelman and spouse Michael Steelman, and Lisa Thamez and Ragnar Opiniano, as well as many nieces and nephews.
His grandchildren Noah Thamez, Isaiah Thamez, Owen Thamez, Jonas Thamez, Aiden Hernandez, Elaina Hernandez, Ezra Hernandez, Brayden McWilliams, Cambrie Thamez, Weston Thamez, Everly Thamez, and Wyatt Ethan, each of whom knew him lovingly as Big J.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother Robert Thamez, sister Sandra Huddleston, and stepfather Al Galindo.
