Once again, we are starting off the spooky season with crafts and our annual Soldiers Grove Health Services "Friday Night Frights"! 🎃👻👹

Every Friday, we revisit the the Halloween spirit and watch classic Halloween movies and new movies, such as "Hocus Pocus," "Hocus Pocus 2," "Halloweentown," "ParaNorman," "Haunted Mansion," and many more. We pull up the big screen and residents enjoy candy, popcorn, and apple cider! 🍿🎬

Championed by Marian McQuade, National Grandparents Day was officially established by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, designating the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparents Day to strengthen intergenerational bonds and recognize the importance of seniors. 👴👵💕

Once again, we partnered with Foodwise - Crawford, Richland, Vernon County, Soldiers Grove Public Library, and North Crawford School District to provide fresh veggies to our residents and community members! 🥕🍅👩‍🌾

We spent a lot of time tending, watering, and harvesting, which turned into baking and cooking! We took our veggies and made zucchini cake, bars, BLTs, and garden pasta salad.

Thank you to the Public Library and Foodwise staff for the help, collaboration, watering of the garden, and providing education on various healthy topics. We also want send our appreciation to the School District's agricultural team for providing us with plant starts!
