16th Annual CalvertHealth Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk. October 18.

Asbury Solomons is a sponsor of this annual event to benefit the Sheldon E. Goldberg Center for Breast Care at the CalvertHealth Medical Center.

Several associates of Asbury Solomons participated as well as "Peggy's Pal's," a resident group. What a great day. We even won the "Most-Spirited Sponsor" table award.

What is Active Aging Week? Active Aging Week is an annual international campaign that aims to celebrate the positive aspects of aging and promote healthy, active lifestyles for older adults. Asbury Solomons, Active AgingWeek included many activities such as a nutrition bar, fall prevention presentation, hydration station, blood pressure screening, art open house, Piecemakers Quilt Guild Display, Kinnections Games and Well-Being Bingo. We also highlighted, our regular classes, such as Qigong, yoga, cardio balance, tai chi. Residents enjoyed a Prayer Walk Friday morning. We ended the week with a relaxing meditation by the pool.  Participating in Active Aging Week can help improve physical and mental health, increase social engagement, promote a sense of well-being and empower older adults to live full and active lives.

We celebrated our 29th anniversary in style last Friday evening with a delicious dinner in the Riverview dining room, followed by live music and dancing. Thank you to the Chesapeake swing band for helping us celebrate!
