Wellness Wednesday🌿

Each week, our team continues to grow in how we support the children and families we serve by turning knowledge into meaningful, everyday practice.

This week’s focus: Rebuilding Foundations Through Everyday Play

Play isn’t just fun, it’s essential for development. Through hands-on play, children build problem-solving skills, strengthen social connections, and develop the motor skills needed for everyday tasks. These experiences create the foundation for learning, confidence, and independence.

Our biggest takeaway? The simplest moments, such as stacking blocks, pretend play, moving, and exploring can have the biggest impact!

We’re committed to helping families create rich, play-based experiences that support growth both in and out of sessions ✨

Tuesday’s Tips! 🧠

Fine motor skills play a big role in a child’s independence and daily success! From grasping utensils to manipulating small objects, these skills support everything from feeding to play and early writing.

Incorporating simple, play-based activities like encouraging self-feeding, practicing picking up small objects, playing with playdough or putty, and trying lacing, threading, or stacking activities can help strengthen hand muscles, coordination, and control.✋

Making these activities part of everyday routines keeps learning fun, engaging, and meaningful! 🧸✨

Milestone Monday! ⭐️

This week we’re highlighting developmental milestones for toddlers 12–18 months!

At this stage, little ones are on the move and becoming more independent by the day. You may notice growth in both communication and motor skills, as they begin using more words, following simple directions, and exploring their environment through hands-on play. Toddlers are gaining confidence in how they move, interact with objects, and engage with the people around them.

It’s such a fun stage as toddlers develop new skills, build independence, and find more ways to connect with the world around them! ✨

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

Let’s meet Emily Kuzilla, one of our speech therapists!

Emily is married to her high school sweetheart and is coming up on their 6 year wedding anniversary. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her twin nieces and nephews and making the most of family time together.

One of the things Emily loves most about being a speech therapist is the variety of settings she gets to work in. She supports children across outpatient pediatrics, daycare settings, schools, and ABA programs, which allows her to connect with and support kids in many different environments.

We’re excited to have Emily as part of our team and for the care she brings to the children and families she works with.✨

Tuesday’s Tips! 🧠
Play is a powerful way to support the development of early social skills in children. Simple, everyday interactions during play create natural opportunities for children to learn how to engage with others, respond to social cues, and build meaningful connections.

Encouraging these moments during play can help children grow confidence in their social interactions in a fun and supportive way! 🧸✨

Milestone Monday! ⭐️

This week we’re looking at developmental milestones for infants 9–12 months!

During this stage, babies are becoming more mobile, more intentional in their play, and more interactive with the people around them.

You may start to notice more gestures, early communication, problem-solving with toys, and big movement skills like pulling to stand and cruising.

It’s such an exciting stage as little ones start to explore their world with more independence and purpose! ✨

As a team, we’re always making space to learn, reflect, and grow together🌟

During our meetings, we take time to dive into new topics, share perspectives, and think about how we can better support the children and families we work with every day.

This week’s focus: Navigating Screens in Therapy📱

We explored how screen-based interests, like video games, can play a big role in a child’s world and how we can use those interests to connect, engage, and support development.

One of our biggest takeaways?
Instead of trying to take screens away, we can meet children where they’re at and use what they love as a starting point for connection and growth.

Our role is to help bring those interests into real life play, movement, and interaction whenever possible.

Children learn best by doing, not just watching.

We’re excited to keep building strategies that feel realistic, supportive, and individualized for every child and family ✨

Milestone Monday! ⭐️

This week we’re looking at developmental milestones for infants 6–9 months!

Babies are discovering new ways to communicate and explore. You might notice them babbling, copying gestures, and responding to their name, while also sitting up, scooting, crawling, and even starting to stand as they move through their day.

Each day brings new discoveries and growth✨

🌟 Meet the Team 🌟

Let’s meet Stephanie Paquette, our Manager of Customer Experience!

Stephanie has proudly worked in the office for over 10 years, overseeing billing, insurance, and scheduling. She truly enjoys getting to know the families who walk through our doors. Outside of work, Stephanie loves being outdoors, staying active at the gym, and cheering on her son at his baseball games🌞⚾️

Fun fact: she met Taylor Swift in 2005, before she became a superstar!

We’re so lucky to have Stephanie keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes✨
