Our Northern Forests are incredibly generous. They provide habitant to many types of wildlife, wood for us to create with or heat our homes with, and these trees are hosts to a wild variety of medicinal mushrooms.
This extract contains a blend of two powerful and complimentary medicinal mushrooms - Birch Polypore and Lions Mane. Both have been well-studied and used by humanity for thousands of years. In fact, a piece of birch polypore was found in the bag of the Iceman, Otzi when he was found in the Italian Alps, at least 5,000 years old.
They are known to support brain health, memory, nerve repair & even regrowth. Both have been studied and shown to positively improve mood disorders, focus & clarity.
A 2022 study showed Lions Mane has "enhanced Nerve growth factor levels, increased neuronal survival, promoted hippocampal neurogenesis, decreased amyloid plaque build-up, and improved behavioural outcomes. Human trials showed improvements in cognitive function scores, short-term memory, and visual contrast sensitivity."
Both of these medicinal mushrooms help to manage oxidative stress, fatigue inflammation, and improve immune system function. If that wasn't enough, Birch Polypore also has strong anti-cancer properties, with one study noting that this mushroom "elicited anticancer effects that were attributed to decreased tumor cell proliferation, motility, and the induction of morphological changes. Of note is the fact that it produced no or low toxicity in tested normal cells."
