Did you know the average person waits 7 years before seeking help for hearing loss?

Why do people wait?

• They think hearing loss is “not that bad yet”
• They assume it’s just part of aging
• They don’t realize how much they are missing
• Family members adapt and speak louder

The truth is that hearing loss often happens gradually, making it difficult to notice right away.

The earlier hearing changes are addressed, the easier it is to stay connected to conversations, family, and everyday life.

If you suspect your hearing may have changed, a simple hearing evaluation is the first step.

Hearing loss from noise exposure is permanent—but it is also preventable.

Common sources of damaging sound include:

• Concerts and live music
• Power tools
• Sporting events
• Personal listening devices at high volumes

Using hearing protection in loud environments can help preserve your hearing for years to come.

Protecting your hearing today protects your future communication.

Three things your audiologist wishes everyone knew about hearing health:

1️⃣ Hearing loss often happens slowly. Many people don’t notice changes until communication becomes difficult.

2️⃣ Today’s hearing technology is incredibly advanced. Modern devices are small, smart, and designed to adapt to real-world environments.

3️⃣ Treating hearing loss improves more than hearing. It helps support communication, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Your hearing plays a role in how you connect with the people and world around you.

Taking care of it matters.

Feeling dizzy, off balance, or nauseous?
You may be experiencing vertigo.

One common cause of vertigo happens when tiny calcium crystals in the inner ear move out of place. When that happens, your balance system sends the wrong signals to your brain.

If vertigo is affecting your day, you don’t have to push through it. We’re here to help you feel steady again and get back to the things you enjoy.

Did you know? Around 430 million people worldwide — that’s more than the population of the U.S. and EU combined — live with disabling hearing loss, meaning their hearing is impaired enough that communication and daily life can be seriously affected. This figure comes from the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO explains that disabling hearing loss refers to a reduction in hearing greater than 35 decibels (dB) in the better-hearing ear — enough to make regular conversation difficult without support like hearing aids or cochlear implants.

As WHO puts it, “untreated hearing loss can have a devastating impact on people’s ability to communicate, to study and to earn a living.”

Let’s raise awareness — and remove barriers so that everyone has access to the care and technology they need.

Today, we recognize International Cochlear Implant Day 🎧

Cochlear implants have transformed access to sound for individuals with severe to profound hearing loss, supporting communication, education, and connection at every stage of life.

On February 25, we celebrate the technology, professionals, and families who make hearing possible in new ways—and the recipients whose stories remind us why hearing care matters.
