NASS Top 20 Under 40! Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Expert

Dr. Kris Radcliff is an orthopaedic spine surgeon whose training and experience include the latest techniques in cervical, thoracic and lumbar procedures. He is trained and certified in use of both of the FDA approved cervical artificial disc replacements, has performed thousands of minimally invasive spinal procedures as well as the standard surgeries for treating virtually all spinal pathology. Dr. Radcliff's primary surgical interests lie in treating degenerative neck and back problems with the least amount of surgical trauma possible. Through the use of minimally invasive, muscle sparing microscopic techniques, Dr. Radcliff is able to perform many procedures that required a lengthy hospital stay in the past but now as outpatient or with just a one night observation stay.

Dr. Radcliff is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Radcliff graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans. After completing his undergraduate work at Harvard, he attended Duke University School of Medicine for medical school. Dr. Radcliff did a year of basic science research at UCLA during his third year of Medical School. From there Dr. Radcliff completed a five year orthopaedic surgery residency in Houston, Texas at the Baylor College of Medicine, including Ben Taub General Hospital (trauma), the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center, Texas Children's Hospital, The Methodist Hospital, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, and electives at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Radcliff completed a long term fellowship in spinal surgery under the direction of Dr. Alexander Vaccaro, Dr. Todd Albert, and Dr. Alan Hilibrand. Dr. Radcliff then joined his former fellowship mentors in practice at the Rothman Institute. Dr. Radcliff then moved to the Atlantic City, NJ area where he has practiced and treated a wide variety of spinal problems and traumatic injuries.

Dr. Radcliff is always exploring non-surgical options to manage your spine problem before he recommends surgical intervention. Like all spine surgeons, Dr. Radcliff’s most successful treatments involve those associated with arm or leg pain that comes from nerve compression in the spine, whether it be from disk degeneration, bone spur formation, disk herniation or other compressive pathology within the spinal canal.

Dr. Radcliff is a member of The Society of Lateral Access Surgery (SOLAS®) and certified in The Better Way Back™ program and XLIF® Surgical Procedure. Dr. Radcliff is on the Executive Advisory Board of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine surgery.
