March’s monthly drill night consisted of a splinting and immobilization review! We reviewed how to splint arms and legs, as well as our traction device for femur fractures. It’s always helpful to review these skills to keep us sharp and educate our newer members. We hope everyone is outside enjoying the warm weather and stay safe!

Merry Christmas!! EMFAS had a holiday party last week where we had dinner, desserts, and a gift exchange! We also would like to congratulate our newest member Kira and the promotion of our two probationary members, Kyle and Aaron, to full member status. Congrats to all and Merry Christmas!

At our monthly meeting last night our squad was presented with a donation from The Jeni Fund. This foundation recently raised money for both our squad and the Sanders Matits Burn Foundation via their fundraiser at Twenty/20 in October. We are so thankful for this donation and for all support from our community. We are a 100% volunteer squad, meaning none of our members are paid, and we rely 100% on donations. Thank you to the Jeni Fund for your generous support!

Today our members participated in the Canal Walk Health Fair. It’s always a great time when we get to meet members of our community and explain all services we offer, free of charge. As a reminder, EMFAS is completely volunteer and relies on community donations to pay for supplies. If we respond to your 911 call for medical assistance, you will not receive a bill from our agency.
