On Saturday, I had the honor and privilege of participating in the &Girls Conference through the office of the esteemed living legend Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman . This conference centered the Mental Health strengths and needs of Black girls. I presented a workshop for parents and caregivers entitled The Power of Caring Presence and participated in a panel discussion.

In a moment where the world is sending messages to many people that they don't belong, I am grateful to be among those affirming the Beauty and Brilliance of Black Girls.

I found this quote in a book Souls of My Sisters, that my momma Preacha Wright left behind on a book shelf. The quote has stayed with me this week, so much so I needed to make a graphic.

Reminds me of my favorite quote by Marianne Williamson in Our Deepest Fear poem in the book Return to Love.

"And as we let our own light shine,

Awesome time with the Mental Health and Pastoral Care Ministries of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens. Grateful to present on Care for the Soul: Suicide Prevention in Faith Communities. Thank you to Pastor Dante Quickphd and Rev Kamaria for extending the invitation and for centering whole person wellness. Its so beautiful to be at my first home church with folks who knew me as a baby. Always thankful that my family supports me in the community with their presence and pictures.
