Our sincere thanks to supporters who donated on Giving Tuesday and members of BNI Manhattan Chapter 33 - The Dream Team who generously donated the funds to purchase two couches for the Adult Women’s program.

The couches are sturdy, comfortable and they look great - checking all the boxes.

The kindness of these individuals will impact the lives of the women and children who call CGE home creating a warm atmosphere where healing can take place. This level of comfort puts the women at ease allowing them to drop the barriers that have kept them stuck for so long.

Looking back on the year at Katy’s Place

This year, Katy’s Place continued to be a safe, nurturing space where children can learn, grow, and feel supported. Through consistent care, meals, and enriching activities, children strengthened important developmental skills while building confidence and emotional security.

With the help of dedicated staff, volunteers, and community support, families across New Jersey were able to access the stability and care they need.

Thank you for helping create a place where children are safe, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Two beautiful baby girls were welcomed at The Center for Great Expectations in mid-February.

One new mom is experiencing motherhood for the very first time, while another is welcoming her second child.
One mother shared she was nervous about giving birth, but after meeting her daughter she felt pure relief and joy. Her first words? “You’re so cute!”

Both moms are bonding wonderfully with their little girls, and we are honored to support them as they begin this new chapter.

This Women’s History Month, we recognize our very own, Peg Wright, Founder and CEO of The Center for Great Expectations.

The single home Peg started in 1998 has grown into a comprehensive continuum of care supporting pregnant or parenting women and their families thanks to Peg’s leadership and drive.

Today, the treatment model used at CGE is based on data shared and analyzed by Rutgers University. CGE’s continuum has grown and provides residential treatment, child development services, outpatient care, supportive housing, and telehealth and home-based support for pregnant and parenting women in recovery. It continues to be a mission rooted in compassion, transforming lives, strengthening families, and building healthier communities.

There are many ways to support women and families at The Center for Great Expectations.

• Donate monetarily to help fund housing, meals, counseling, and recovery services.
• Give in-kind donations like diapers, toiletries, laundry supplies, or gift cards.
• Volunteer your time by cooking meals, helping with childcare, assisting with events or other options based on your skills and interests.
• Host a drive or friend-raiser - collect essentials, run a Baby Bottle Brigade, or gather friends to raise support and awareness.
• Spread the word and share CGE’s impact with your community.

March is Women’s History Month and today, International Women's Day—a time to honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of women past and present.

At The Center for Good Expectations, we celebrate the women who lead with compassion, lift up their communities, and inspire change every day. From the mothers and daughters we serve to the dedicated staff and volunteers who support them, your courage and determination make a lasting impact.

We’re proud to highlight our S.T.A.R.T. (Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Team) program, which provides free, in-home and telehealth support for pregnant and postpartum women on their recovery journey in honor of Women’s History Month.

Through counseling, peer recovery support, and integrated doula care, S.T.A.R.T. helps mothers overcome barriers to treatment, strengthen the bond with their babies, and build healthier, more stable futures.
