Pascua Yaqui tribal member Feliciano Cruz and Tohono O'odham tribal member Antonio Manuel share their thoughts on what they learned during an intensive, three day Active Shooter Incident Management class. The FEMA training was hosted by the Cocopah Indian Tribe's Office of Emergency Management from Feb. 24-26. Sixty first responders from local, state, federal and tribal governments participated in the training.

Today marks Day 3 — the final day of the National Center for Integrated Emergency Response Advanced Active Shooter Course, hosted by the Cocopah Indian Tribe Office of Emergency Management.

After three days of intensive, multi-jurisdiction training, Tribal, local, state, and federal first responders from across Yuma County have strengthened coordination, sharpened lifesaving skills, and built the trust that matters most when seconds count.

This final day reflects the power of collaboration, preparedness, and unity in the face of real-world threats.

When we train together, we become stronger.
When we stand together, we save lives.
