Empower's new Nurse Liasion Supervisor, Sandy Cayo, attended the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide's recurring event, the Be S-Well Youth Summit, at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. The Be S-Well Summit is a day-long event offered to Ocean County public and private high schools. The summit is designed to provide students, staff, and administrators with the resources needed to support overall wellness, including the prevention of teen su***de and other upstream prevention measures.

Empower partnered with Safe+Sound Somerset to provide middle school students of Plainfield Academy for the Arts and Advanced Studies presentations on Teen Dating Violence Prevention. Students learned the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships, the impact of violence in relationships, and the resources available in their community.
