Thrilling morning with four giant formations of geese flying north —thousands and thousands. my heart was thumping wildly. The vast universe of animal migration opened a portal into connection with what was normal in our ancestors lives.
Then… Two kingfishers down by the ephemeral stream chittering, then flying high speedily back-and-forth above us, probably mating behavior
Then… our albino turkey walked across the patio right in front of my healing space
Then… the great Blue Herron who’s nested up on the mountain for 40 years flew south towards the Bay lands…
As I write, turkeys gobble in the distance, swallows drive, acorn, woodpeckers call, and our goldfinches flutter by. we are blessed with an alive ecosystem

Vulture waiting for us to move on by so he can pick the bones of the deer. This is in Sonoma regional park right by the pathway. It’s presumably a lion kill.

A big flock of turkeys has been hanging around and came into the yard today making quite a bit of racket. There are two males and right here they’re displaying kind of to each other. It’s unusual to see two males together, but I guess they are competing with their beauty for the other females. Sometimes I feel like the people who sit watching cars go by their house, but we actually learn things by observing the wildlife
