On June 10, 2023 Jaxson Christ and his dad Jeremy Christ went to prompt care for what we thought was a normal case of pink eye or an eye irritation that had lingered too long. Our jokes of Jaxson letting someone fart on his pillow quickly became a sickening wait game of unknown tests and a storm of doctors that provided little information. After 6 hours at the local hospital Jaxson was transported
to Oaklands Children's Hospital, where he underwent more tests and examinations by multiple other doctors. Sunday June 11 at 9:00 a.m., Jeremy and Stacey were given the absolute worst news any parent could receive. Jaxson had a tumor growing which was located on his Brainstem, the pressure from the tumor was the cause of his irritated eye. The doctors stated more tests would be performed and to just sit tight, Jeremy, Stacey and other close family did their best to entertain Jaxson, who has all his energy and boy spirit, despite this discovery . the clinical diagnosis was provided and we were informed that Jaxson has DIPG ( Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) a type of brain tumor found in an area of the brainstem known as the pons. Jaxson treatment plan is still under review with his medical team and we are hopeful to have an understanding of the treatments Jaxson will need to immediately begin by Tuesday June 20, 2023. Our goal with this page is to have updates easily accessible to friends and family. In addition to being able to share fundraiser information with friends and family and community, in hopes of providing for The Christ family to allow them peace of mind to focus on Jaxson's treatment and recovery.
