Job Posting – Clinic Insurance Biller
The Insurance Biller is responsible for preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims for medical services provided at our rural health clinic. This role requires strong knowledge of Rural Health Clinic billing practices, insurance requirements, and payer policies (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans). The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and able to work independently while supporting a small, close-knit clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Registration
• Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional front-desk experience.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits prior to appointments.
• Collect copays, balances, and required documentation at check-in.
• Obtain and scan insurance cards, identification, and signed consent forms.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with clinical staff as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
Insurance Billing
• Prepare, submit, and track claims for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers.
• Review provider documentation to ensure proper coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10).
• Identify and correct claim errors or denials; process appeals as necessary.
• Post insurance and patient payments; reconcile accounts and balances.
• Generate and review reports on billing performance and aging accounts.
• Stay current with Rural Health Clinic billing regulations and payer policy updates.
