We want to alert our patients and community members about a Medicre fraud scheme that has been brought to our attention. Several people have looked at their Medicare Explanation of benefits (EOB) falsely showing that your medical provider or a provider has ordered thousands of dollars of DME- durable medical equipment. What we have seen so far is for urinary catheters. This is fraudulant. Your provider did not order this equipment. If you have received something like this and believe it is fraud, please call Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). The people that have reported this activity, do not use or need any of this equipment. Once again, please be on the look out for fraudulant charges to your Medicare cards, and in some instances, they are issuing patients new Medicare cards.

Job Opening - Radiologic Technologist

Sutton County Hospital District is accepting applications for a Radiologic Technologist. The technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures as well as laboratory. This position will be cross trained in the laboratory including patient testing, starting IV’s, etc. Once trained the individual will be responsible for weekly call and often weekends. The Technologist will work closely with all patients and patient’s families, medical and clerical staff as well as other professional staff, ancillary department member. This position works interactively with all departments of the Hospital District to ensure quality patient care. RN's working at this community hospital are responsible for managing individualized direct patient care by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, while providing an exceptional patient experience by supporting and educating the patient and family throughout their evaluation process. This RN also functions as the patient advocate while actively following a plan of care responding to changes in condition and/or response to treatments. Sonora Medical Clinic is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Medical Registration Clerk to join our healthcare team. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for our patients while ensuring accurate and efficient registration processes. Position Summary
The Medical Registration Clerk interviews incoming patients to obtain and verify demographic, insurance, and emergency contact information. This role is responsible for ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and that patient accounts are properly established in accordance with clinic policies.

Responsibilities
• Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and emergency contact information
• Ensure completion and accuracy of patient registration paperwork
• Collect copayments and process patient payments
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with general inquiries
• Assist patients and family members with questions regarding registration
• Retrieve prior medical records and maintain organized patient account documentation
• Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Support additional front office duties as assigned

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous medical office or healthcare registration experience preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
