Shout out to the generations of the faithful that lived during the 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments.
The mothers, fathers, and grandparents held tight to the promises of God. They trusted His word, lived as an example of faith, and passed down a legacy of belief. They told their children and grandchildren about the living Lord, His mighty works, and the promises He made for a wonderful future. Even in generations of silence, they did not waver.
So that, when the time was just right, a young Jewish girl would be so full of faith that when an angel visited to tell her that she would birth the Savior of the World, she didn’t hesitate to answer, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” (Luke 1:38)
We may be the no-names, the forgotten ones, those that don’t get any notoriety, but don’t forget that our legacy matters. Listen to the Holy Spirit who lives inside of you as a Believer in Christ. Stay faithful, even in seasons of silence, for your faith may just have an amazing impact on those around you.
