This event is at no cost to you as a thank you for your contribution to our profession and program. The event is open to the Division of Dental Education Alumni and offers 3 CEUs for dental hygiene attendees.
Due to limited space, this event is primarily reserved for alumni. We understand there may be interest from other dental professionals. If you know someone who is not an alum but would like to attend, please have them contact Mallory Roberts at mledmond@iu.edu to inquire about availability. Non-alumni seating is limited and will be offered the week of the event based on remaining capacity after alumni responses are received.
Keynote Presentation
We are excited to welcome Barbara Spinda, EdD, MLS/ASCPᶜᵐ SMᶜᵐ as our keynote speaker for this year’s Alumni Day. Dr. Spinda will present “Can You Survive ZNV-23? Infection Prevention and Biological Exposure Response,” an interactive and engaging session focused on infection control and collaborative approaches to strengthening clinical protocols. Through a dynamic, scenario-based experience, participants will explore practical strategies to prevent and respond to the spread of pathogens in clinical settings.
Learning Outcomes:
Apply CDC and OSHA infection prevention strategies to high-risk clinical situations
Respond effectively to simulated biological exposure incidents under pressure
Evaluate and improve clinic protocols to prevent the spread of real (and fictional) pathogens
Collaborate as a team to contain an outbreak before it spreads throughout the clinic
This session offers a unique opportunity to strengthen your clinical preparedness while engaging in a hands-on, team-based learning experience.
