Have you ever wondered why one of the most natural and sacred experiences in a woman’s life has been turned into something to hide, silence, or be ashamed of?
From the first time we start bleeding, most of us are handed a box of tampons and a heavy dose of embarrassment. We’re taught to push through, hide the pain, and pretend we’re fine—when in reality, our bodies are doing something deeply intelligent, ancient, and powerful.
But what if your cycle isn’t the problem? What if it’s the conditioning around it that is?
In this episode, Adrienne and Taylor peel back the layers of cultural, medical, and historical misinformation that have shaped how women experience their bodies. They dive into how rites of passage—like a woman’s first bleed—have been stripped of reverence, commercialized, and pathologized in Western society. Through humor, honesty, and a touch of lunar magic, they remind us that storytelling and mythology aren’t just old traditions—they’re keys to reclaiming the wisdom of our bodies.
YOU’LL DISCOVER:
✨ Why the Ta**us Full Moon stirred up such powerful energy around letting go and reassembly
✨ The lost mythology behind womanhood—and how storytelling shapes our relationship with our bodies
✨ How modern society turned menstruation into a medical problem (and how to reclaim its sacredness)
✨ The biological truth about what actually happens in your body during your cycle—and why it’s nothing short of miraculous
It’s time to stop apologizing for your body and start honoring it.
Because when we remember the sacred stories written in our cells, we stop living small and start living in sync—with ourselves, our cycles, and the wisdom we were never meant to forget.
I am horrible at keeping secrets - especially when I'm excited. It was understood when I was a kid to not share knowledge of gifts for others with me because I'd get excited and next thing I knew it had tumbled out of my mouth because I was excited about it and for the person it was being given too.
Christmas when my kids were really little and Santa was still a part of the celebration was physically painful at times because I couldn't wait to see their excitement!
I'm feeling all that same excitement for a gift I'm going to give you! I'm trying to contain my enthusiasm over here…
If you’re 35-49 - this is for you. Mark your calendar for 11/14 (how am I going to wait until then?!)

Curious — who really owns the “good vibes” in your crystal shop smudging kit?
You might be grabbing white sage, palo santo, or that pretty “manifestation” tea because it looks spiritual — but are you also unknowingly participating in cultural appropriation, environmental harm, or unsafe herbal use?
This episode peels back the sparkle: herbs are living medicines with stories, lineages, and sacred protocols. When we strip those stories away and turn plants into trendy props, we flatten relationships, fuel exploitation, and sometimes put our bodies at risk. The fix isn’t shame — it’s curiosity, care, and returning to relationship-based practice.
YOU’LL LEARN:
✨ Why burning white sage or slapping together cross-cultural herb mixes can be harmful — to ecosystems, communities, and the plant’s lineage.
✨ How herbs function as teachers (not shortcuts): why intention, preparation, and relationship matter more than packaging.
✨ Practical safety: sourcing, dosing, and why Amazon/cheap supplements can be risky (heavy metals, contamination, mislabeled bottles).
✨ Smart, simple steps to move from appropriation to reverence — kitchen herbalism, supporting local wisdom-keepers, and building a respectful plant relationship.
✨ The medicine is not the bottle or the brand — it’s the relationship you build with the plant, the people who steward it, and the practices that honor its origin. Treat herbs like lineage, not like lifestyle props. https://www.buzzsprout.com/2532765/episodes/18137000

Perimenopause is the buzz word these days. Every event I went to this fall – women were questioning. Am I in it? When does my period stop? Is my anxiety tied to perimenopause? What do you think of HRT?
The questions are there and honestly there hasn’t been a lot of information available to us about the topic. One of the things my mother said to me when I was starting this work is “create resources for menopause, Adrienne. I feel hopeless and I don’t know where to go for information.”
Rooted Rising is my answer to my mother’s plea. Just like cycle information, it is your BIRTHRIGHT to know what perimenopause is, how it works, what to expect and how to tell if your body needs extra love and support.
If you are over 35 – this is for you. This is for your friends. This is for your sisters. Rooted Rising takes you on the journey from 35 through the end of your bleeding years and explains what is happening, why it is happening and what you can do about walking this transition with ease.
Perimenopause is a deep rebirthing of the version of you. Learn what the symptoms are saying and how to care for yourself so you can embrace it as the Second Spring it truly is. https://taoofwomeninstitute.moonessence.life/rooted-rising

I am asked often about sound healing because it seems to be a buzz word in today’s health and wellness space – but this isn’t a “fly by night” trend.
Sound healing has been used for centuries as a healing modality and was only “recently” abandoned as the rise of Western allopathic care became positioned as the superior approach to care.
The truth is that there can be synergy between the two. There is a lot of science in this ancient form of healing and as it is once again gaining in popularity we are seeing it moving back into favor and it is the future of medicine as there is more research being done into how frequency works on and in the body.
In this week’s blog I give you an overview of the origins of this healing modality so you can understand that its not a passing trend you see in Hollywood but a tried, tested and proven means of healing since ancient times. https://blog.moonessence.life/blog/b/origins-of-sound-healing

Moon Essence was born out of the reality that periods don’t have to suck. Yes, you read that correctly. Actually, when the body is in balance, periods are only supposed to be 4 days long and pain/bloating/headache free.
I can hear the sarcasm now - yeah right. A period that isn’t heavy and is free of discomfort? That’s a unicorn. Well ladies, I am offering you a unicorn.
Hi, I’m Adrienne and I have suffered from painful, heavy, irregular periods my whole adult life. When I was introduced to vaginal steaming - my whole world changed. For the first time in my adult life I have a regular, 4 day, even flow period with no unwanted side effects.
A period doesn’t have to stop you in your tracks each month, like it does for so many women. It was my personal success and a complete change in my quality of life that inspired me to start this business and share this knowledge with others.
Steaming isn’t just for menstruation. It works with a woman’s needs at every stage of her life. It can ease menarche. It regulates menstruation and helps provide the healthiest environment for trying to conceive. Steam helps the healing process after giving birth in a way no sitz bath can. Menopause and post menopause don’t have to be filled with hot flashes and dryness. Steaming addresses a woman’s needs in every stage of life.
Using steam, herbs based in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Chinese Nutritional Therapy, we will create a plan to help bring your body into better balance and change the experience of menstruation, trying to conceive, post partum recovery, menopause and post menopause for the better.
Are you ready to take control of your quality of life?
