It is with great disappointment that we inform you that our anticipated replacement for Larry has unfortunately chosen another path. Due to the highly regulated pharmacy industry, we will no longer be able to staff the pharmacy appropriately after tomorrow and need to close our doors. Our last day will be Tuesday, November 29th. We are so sorry for any inconvenience to the community. This comes as a huge loss to us all. Thank you for your patronage over the years. Please reach out with any questions.

Dear Friends and Customers,

Despite serving our community for over forty years, South Berwick Pharmacy has made the difficult decision to close our doors permanently within the next few weeks.

This decision brings with it feelings of deep sadness, however, the low and increasingly negative reimbursements from insurance companies along with staffing challenges has made it more and more difficult to maintain our presence and serve our community to its fullest.

We have genuinely always valued the relationships we have developed and maintained with our customers. We have been proud members of the local business community and that of Independent Pharmacy, a business that despite the support of so many, continues to meet increasing challenges beyond its control.

We know you have had many pharmacies to choose from and are honored that we were able to serve you for so long. We appreciate your unwavering support and realize the instrumental role you have had in the survival of the store throughout the years and challenges we have faced along the way.

Although an exact date has not been determined, we wanted to allow our patients ample time to make necessary arrangements for their future prescription needs. During this transition period, we will adopt a modified schedule and will be closed Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Thank you to all our loyal customers for your continued support! We appreciate so many of you bringing these insurance letter scams to the towns attention! For those of you who transferred out believing what you were told… As many people do… We are happy to transfer Your prescriptions back to us… Just give us a call and let us know where they went and we can get them back if you’d like! Unfortunately for us, big Pharma and insurance companies have a relationship like no other.  We intend to be your local independent pharmacy for as long as we can keep going! Please let us know how we can serve you better!

We have received many inquiries from
Our customers regarding letters that they have received from their insurance companies stating that we will no longer be a preferred pharmacy (as of the New Year)....ie Caremark and Federal Blue Cross, etc. These allegations are simply untrue! This is just another attempt by them to control the industry and stress an already shrinking pool of independent pharmacies! Please reach out to us with any concerns regarding your future prescriptions.
