Our Story
Bowenwork is a holistic, hands-on, healing modality which originated in the 1950’s in Geelong, Australia. Its' founder is Tom Bowen, a skilled observer and self taught practitioner, before there was a school of study available. Tom pioneered this work which is now in 37 countries, and on all 7 continents. There are 50+ practitioners in the Maine & New Hampshire region alone, and more certifying each month.
I am a professionally certified and accredited Bowenwork Practitioner Level SP2 and Associate Instructor since 2014, given how much this work helped me as a client following a traumatic fall.
Through articles, videos, exchanges, diagrams, posts, and client testimonials, I hope you will consider the benefits of this work for your own healing “tool kit”. Bowenwork is scalable and gentle enough to be used when other modalities are not. It is safe for infants to the elderly.
I offer single and tandem session work, a 4 hour novice introduction class, and monthly community clinics at Friends Forever International, 1 Morgan Way in Durham, NH, on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 10 am to 1 pm. We welcome walk ins from the public interested in experiencing a “mini session” to gain a better sense of specifically how this work can positively impact their health. Attendees are continuously surprised and impressed with the knowledge than gain in person, and how this work can help restore their own bodies’ natural ability to prioritize healing processes. Bowenwork works at the neurofascial level through the superficial layers of the skin, so the work is gentle and restorative. Clients consistently report improvement with rest, recovery, and repair of chronic and acute conditions. Is it time for you to embrace the power of your own self determination around your health? Why not consider Bowenwork for your long term strategies.
