We’re excited to announce a new milestone at Sentara! Our newly launched onboarding program for advanced practice providers (APPs) is now helping nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other APPs build confidence, connection and clinical excellence from day one.

Through structured mentorship, weekly training modules and plenty of peer support, this program is all about strengthening teamwork, boosting job satisfaction and increasing the quality of care we provide. As one of our clinicians put it, “Healthcare is a team sport.”

What an amazing weekend of community involvement for Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital!

Our team had a great time connecting with our community at two special events:
South Boston Farmers Market Halloween Extravaganza – A big shoutout to Stephanie Clay and Corina Hylton for representing Sentara Halifax in style! They dressed up, handed out candy, and helped bring plenty of Halloween fun to families in the community.

2025 Alzheimer’s Walk in Danville, VA – We’re so proud of Samantha Carr, Lauren Adcock, and Wendy Crews for showing their support and walking together to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care and research. The team also set up a table with giveaways and shared valuable health resources with attendees.

We’re grateful for our dedicated team members who go above and beyond to serve our community — whether it’s through health education, awareness, or simply spreading smiles. Together, we make a difference!

Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital recently recognized David Harris (Respiratory Therapy Department) for being selected for the prestigious PHIL Award!

The PHIL Award (which stands for Pulmonary Health & Illnesses of the Lung) is a nationally recognized hospital-based program dedicated to honoring respiratory therapists who provide exemplary care and treatment for patients with respiratory illnesses.

David’s dedication, compassion, and professional excellence have truly made a difference to patients and families in our care. His commitment to helping others breathe easier exemplifies exactly what the PHIL Award stands for.
